In the name of God, the Almighty, the Merciful.
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
Bismi Allahi arrahmani arraheem
And the scattering ones a-scattering,
وَالنَّاشِرَاتِ نَشْراًۙ
Wannashirati nashra
What you are promised — it will befall.
اِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَاقِعٌۜ
Innama tooAAadoona lawaqiAA
Then when the stars are put out,
فَاِذَا النُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْۙ
Fa-itha annujoomu tumisat
And when the heaven is cleft asunder,
وَاِذَا السَّمَٓاءُ فُرِجَتْۙ
Wa-itha assamao furijat
And when the mountains are scattered,
وَاِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْۙ
Wa-itha aljibalu nusifat
And when the messengers are brought to the time appointed––
وَاِذَا الرُّسُلُ اُقِّتَتْۜ
Wa-itha arrusulu oqqitat
“To what day will it be deferred?”
لِاَيِّ يَوْمٍ اُجِّلَتْۜ
Li-ayyi yawmin ojjilat
And what will convey to thee what the Day of Decision is?
وَمَٓا اَدْرٰيكَ مَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِۜ
Wama adraka ma yawmualfasl
Woe, that day, to the deniers!
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّب۪ينَ
Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeen
Did We not destroy the former peoples?
اَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْاَوَّل۪ينَۜ
Alam nuhliki al-awwaleen
Then will We cause to follow them those who come later.
ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْاٰخِر۪ينَ
Thumma nutbiAAuhumu al-akhireen
Thus do We with the lawbreakers.
كَذٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِم۪ينَ
Kathalika nafAAalu bilmujrimeen
Woe, that day, to the deniers!
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّب۪ينَ
Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeen
Did We not create you from a despised water?
اَلَمْ نَخْلُقْكُمْ مِنْ مَٓاءٍ مَه۪ينٍۙ
Alam nakhluqkum min ma-in maheen
And We placed it in a fixed lodging secure
فَجَعَلْنَاهُ ف۪ي قَرَارٍ مَك۪ينٍۙ
FajaAAalnahu fee qararinmakeen
So We determined; and how excellent are those who determine!
فَقَدَرْنَاۗ فَنِعْمَ الْقَادِرُونَ
Faqadarna faniAAma alqadiroon
Woe, that day, to the deniers!
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّب۪ينَ
Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeen
Have We not made the earth a container
اَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْاَرْضَ كِفَاتاًۙ
Alam najAAali al-arda kifata
And We made therein high, firm mountains, and gave you to drink sweet water.
وَجَعَلْنَا ف۪يهَا رَوَاسِيَ شَامِخَاتٍ وَاَسْقَيْنَاكُمْ مَٓاءً فُرَاتاًۜ
WajaAAalna feeha rawasiyashamikhatin waasqaynakum maan furata
Woe, that day, to the deniers!
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّب۪ينَ
Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeen
“Depart for what you denied!
اِنْطَلِقُٓوا اِلٰى مَا كُنْتُمْ بِه۪ تُكَذِّبُونَۚ
Intaliqoo ila ma kuntumbihi tukaththiboon
“Depart to the threefold shadow,
اِنْطَلِقُٓوا اِلٰى ظِلٍّ ذ۪ي ثَلٰثِ شُعَبٍۙ
Intaliqoo ila thillinthee thalathi shuAAab
“Neither shading, nor availing against the flame!”
لَا ظَل۪يلٍ وَلَا يُغْن۪ي مِنَ اللَّهَبِۜ
La thaleelin walayughnee mina allahab
It throws sparks like logs,
اِنَّهَا تَرْم۪ي بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِۚ
Innaha tarmee bishararin kalqasr
Woe, that day, to the deniers!
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّب۪ينَ
Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeen
This is the day they will not speak
هٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنْطِقُونَۙ
Hatha yawmu la yantiqoon
Nor be given leave, then put forth excuses.
وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ
Wala yu/thanu lahum fayaAAtathiroon
Woe, that day, to the deniers!
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّب۪ينَ
Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeen
“This is the Day of Decision! We have gathered you and the former peoples!”
هٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِۚ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ وَالْاَوَّل۪ينَ
Hatha yawmu alfasli jamaAAnakumwal-awwaleen
So if you have a plan, then plan against Me.
فَاِنْ كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَك۪يدُونِ
Fa-in kana lakum kaydun fakeedoon
Woe, that day, to the deniers!
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّب۪ينَ۟
Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeen
Those of prudent fear will be among shades and springs,
اِنَّ الْمُتَّق۪ينَ ف۪ي ظِلَالٍ وَعُيُونٍۙ
Inna almuttaqeena fee thilalinwaAAuyoon
And such fruits as they desire:
وَفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَۜ
Wafawakiha mimma yashtahoon
“Eat and drink with satisfaction for what you did!”
كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَن۪ٓيـٔاً بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Kuloo washraboo hanee-an bimakuntum taAAmaloon
Thus reward We the doers of good.
اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِن۪ينَ
Inna kathalika najzee almuhsineen
Woe, that day, to the deniers!
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّب۪ينَ
Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeen
Eat and enjoy yourselves a little — you are lawbreakers.
كُلُوا وَتَمَتَّعُوا قَل۪يلاً اِنَّكُمْ مُجْرِمُونَ
Kuloo watamattaAAoo qaleelan innakummujrimoon
Woe, that day, to the deniers!
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّب۪ينَ
Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeen
And when it is said to them: “Be lowly,” they are not lowly.
وَاِذَا ق۪يلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوا لَا يَرْكَعُونَ
Wa-itha qeela lahumu irkaAAoo layarkaAAoon
Woe, that day, to the deniers!
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّب۪ينَ
Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeen
Then in what narration after it will they believe?
فَبِاَيِّ حَد۪يثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Fabi-ayyi hadeethin baAAdahuyu/minoon
