We are your allies in this world and in the world to come, where you will have everything you desire and ask for
نَحْنُ اَوْلِيَٓاؤُ۬كُمْ فِي الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْاٰخِرَةِۚ وَلَكُمْ ف۪يهَا مَا تَشْتَـه۪ٓي اَنْفُسُكُمْ وَلَكُمْ ف۪يهَا مَا تَدَّعُونَۜ
Nahnu evliyaukum fil hayatid dunya ve fil ahireh, ve lekum fiha ma teştehi enfusukum ve lekum fiha ma teddeun.
It is Satan who urges you to fear his followers; do not fear them, but fear Me, if you are true believers.
اِنَّمَا ذٰلِكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ يُخَوِّفُ اَوْلِيَٓاءَهُۖ فَلَا تَخَافُوهُمْ وَخَافُونِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِن۪ينَ
İnnema zalikumuş şeytanu yuhavvifu evliya'eh, fe la tehafuhum ve hafuni in kuntum mu'minin.
Do those who ally themselves with the disbelievers rather than the believers seek power through them? In reality all power is God’s to give.
اَلَّذ۪ينَ يَتَّخِذُونَ الْكَافِر۪ينَ اَوْلِيَٓاءَ مِنْ دُونِ الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَۜ اَيَبْتَغُونَ عِنْدَهُمُ الْعِزَّةَ فَاِنَّ الْعِزَّةَ لِلّٰهِ جَم۪يعاًۜ
Ellezine yettehızunel kafirine evliyae min dunil mu'minin, e yebtegune indehumul izzete fe innel izzete lillahi cemia.
The disbelievers support one another. If you do not do the same, there will be persecution in the land and great corruption.
وَالَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا بَعْضُهُمْ اَوْلِيَٓاءُ بَعْضٍۜ اِلَّا تَفْعَلُوهُ تَكُنْ فِتْنَةٌ فِي الْاَرْضِ وَفَسَادٌ كَب۪يرٌۜ
Vellezine keferu ba'duhum evliyau ba'd, illa tef'aluhu tekun fitnetun fil ardı ve fesadun kebir.
But for those who are on God’s side there is no fear, nor shall they grieve.
اَلَٓا اِنَّ اَوْلِيَٓاءَ اللّٰهِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَۚ
E la inne evliya allahi la havfun aleyhim ve la hum yahzenun.
Those who take protectors other than God can be compared to spiders building themselves houses- the spider’s is the frailest of all houses- if only they could understand.
مَثَلُ الَّذ۪ينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰهِ اَوْلِيَٓاءَ كَمَثَلِ الْعَنْكَبُوتِۚ اِتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتاًۜ وَاِنَّ اَوْهَنَ الْبُيُوتِ لَبَيْتُ الْعَنْكَبُوتِۢ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ
Meselullezinettehazu min dunillahi evliyae ke meselil ankebut, ittehazet beyta ve inne evhenel buyuti le beytul ankebut, lev kanu ya'lemun.
As for those who take protectors other than Him, God is watching them; you are not responsible for them.
وَالَّذ۪ينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِه۪ٓ اَوْلِيَٓاءَ اللّٰهُ حَف۪يظٌ عَلَيْهِمْۘ وَمَٓا اَنْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِوَك۪يلٍ
Vellezinettehazu min dunihi evliyallahu hafizun aleyhim ve ma ente aleyhim bi vekil.
How can they take protectors other than Him? God alone is the Protector; He gives life to the dead; He has power over all things.
اَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِه۪ٓ اَوْلِيَٓاءَۚ فَاللّٰهُ هُوَ الْوَلِيُّ وَهُوَ يُحْـيِ الْمَوْتٰىۘ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَد۪يرٌ۟
Emittehazu min dunihi evliyae, fallahu huvel veliyyu ve huve yuhyil mevta ve huve ala kulli şey'in kadir.
The believers should not make the disbelievers their allies rather than other believers- anyone who does such a thing will isolate himself completely from God- except when you need to protect yourselves from them. God warns you to beware of Him: the Final Return is to God.
لَا يَتَّخِذِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْكَافِر۪ينَ اَوْلِيَٓاءَ مِنْ دُونِ الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَۚ وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْ ذٰلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ اللّٰهِ ف۪ي شَيْءٍ اِلَّٓا اَنْ تَتَّقُوا مِنْهُمْ تُقٰيةًۜ وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ اللّٰهُ نَفْسَهُۜ وَاِلَى اللّٰهِ الْمَص۪يرُ
La yettehizil mu'minunel kafirine evliyae min dunil mu'minin, ve men yef'al zalike fe leyse minallahi fi şey'in illa en tetteku minhum tukata, ve yuhazzirukumullahu nefseh, ve ilallahil masir.
You who believe, do not take the disbelievers as allies and protectors instead of the believers: do you want to offer God clear proof against you?
يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الْكَافِر۪ينَ اَوْلِيَٓاءَ مِنْ دُونِ الْمُؤْمِن۪ينَۜ اَتُر۪يدُونَ اَنْ تَجْعَلُوا لِلّٰهِ عَلَيْكُمْ سُلْطَاناً مُب۪يناً
Ya eyyuhallezine amenu la tettehızul kafirine evliyae min dunil mu'minin. E turidune en tec'alu lillahi aleykum sultanen mubina.
they will have no allies to help them against God. There is no way for those God allows to stray.
وَمَا كَانَ لَهُمْ مِنْ اَوْلِيَٓاءَ يَنْصُرُونَهُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰهِۜ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلِ اللّٰهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ سَب۪يلٍۜ
Ve ma kane lehum min evliyae yensurunehum min dunillah. Ve men yudlilillahu fe ma lehu min sebil.
Say, ‘You who follow the Jewish faith, if you truly claim that out of all people you alone are friends of God, then you should be hoping for death.’
قُلْ يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ هَادُٓوا اِنْ زَعَمْتُمْ اَنَّكُمْ اَوْلِيَٓاءُ لِلّٰهِ مِنْ دُونِ النَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُا الْمَوْتَ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِق۪ينَ
Kul ya eyyuhellezine hadu in zeamtum ennekum evliyau lillahi min dunin nasi fe temennevul mevte in kuntum sadikin.
You who believe, do not take the Jews and Christians as allies:they are allies only to each other. Anyone who takes them as an ally becomes one of them- God does not guide such wrongdoers-
يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارٰٓى اَوْلِيَٓاءَۢ بَعْضُهُمْ اَوْلِيَٓاءُ بَعْضٍۜ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّهُمْ مِنْكُمْ فَاِنَّهُ مِنْهُمْۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِم۪ينَ
Ya eyyuhellezine amenu la tettehızul yehude ven nasara evliyae ba'duhum evliyau ba'd ve men yetevellehum minkum fe innehu minhum innallahe la yehdil kavmez zalimin.
‘Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord; do not follow other masters beside Him. How seldom you take heed!’
اِتَّبِعُوا مَٓا اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْكُمْ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا مِنْ دُونِه۪ٓ اَوْلِيَٓاءَۜ قَل۪يلاً مَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Ittebiu ma unzile ileykum min rabbikum ve la tettebiu min dunihi evliya, kalilen ma tezekkerun.
Believers, do not take your fathers and brothers as allies if they prefer disbelief to faith: those of you who do so are doing wrong.
يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُٓوا اٰبَٓاءَكُمْ وَاِخْوَانَكُمْ اَوْلِيَٓاءَ اِنِ اسْتَحَبُّوا الْكُفْرَ عَلَى الْا۪يمَانِۜ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّهُمْ مِنْكُمْ فَاُو۬لٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ
Ya eyyuhellezine amenu la tettehızu abaekum ve ihvanekum evliyae inistehabbul kufre alel imani, ve men yetevellehum minkum fe ulaike humuz zalimun.
The believers, both men and women, support each other; they order what is right and forbid what is wrong; they keep up the prayer and pay the prescribed alms; they obey God and His Messenger. God will give His mercy to such people: God is almighty and wise.
وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بَعْضُهُمْ اَوْلِيَٓاءُ بَعْضٍۢ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُق۪يمُونَ الصَّلٰوةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكٰوةَ وَيُط۪يعُونَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُولَهُۜ اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ سَيَرْحَمُهُمُ اللّٰهُۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَز۪يزٌ حَك۪يمٌ
Vel mu'minune vel mu'minatu ba'duhum evliyau ba'd, ye'murune bil ma'rufi ve yenhevne anil munkeri ve yukimunas salate ve yu'tunez zekate ve yutiunallahe ve resuleh, ulaike se yerhamuhumullah, innallahe azizun hakim.
Did they think that they could take My servants as masters instead of Me? We have prepared Hell as the disbelievers’ resting place.
اَفَحَسِبَ الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُٓوا اَنْ يَتَّخِذُوا عِبَاد۪ي مِنْ دُون۪ٓي اَوْلِيَٓاءَۜ اِنَّٓا اَعْتَدْنَا جَهَنَّمَ لِلْكَافِر۪ينَ نُزُلاً
E fe hasibellezine keferu en yettehızu ibadi min duni evliya', inna a'tedna cehenneme lil kafirine nuzula.
They will say, ‘May You be exalted! We ourselves would never take masters other than You! But You granted them and their forefathers pleasures in this life, until they forgot Your Reminder and were ruined.’
قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ مَا كَانَ يَنْبَغ۪ي لَـنَٓا اَنْ نَتَّخِذَ مِنْ دُونِكَ مِنْ اَوْلِيَٓاءَ وَلٰكِنْ مَتَّعْتَهُمْ وَاٰبَٓاءَهُمْ حَتّٰى نَسُوا الذِّكْرَۚ وَكَانُوا قَوْماً بُوراً
Kalu subhaneke ma kane yenbegi lena en nettehıze min dunike min evliyae ve lakin metta'tehum ve abaehum hatta nesuz zikre, ve kanu kavmen bura.
You who believe, do not take My enemies and yours as your allies, showing them friendship when they have rejected the truth you have received, and have driven you and the Messenger out simply because you believe in God, your Lord––not if you truly emigrated in order to strive for My cause and seek My good pleasure. You secretly show them friendship––I know all you conceal and all you reveal–– but any of you who do this are straying from the right path.
يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا عَدُوّ۪ي وَعَدُوَّكُمْ اَوْلِيَٓاءَ تُلْقُونَ اِلَيْهِمْ بِالْمَوَدَّةِ وَقَدْ كَفَرُوا بِمَا جَٓاءَكُمْ مِنَ الْحَقِّۚ يُخْرِجُونَ الرَّسُولَ وَاِيَّاكُمْ اَنْ تُؤْمِنُوا بِاللّٰهِ رَبِّكُمْۜ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ خَرَجْتُمْ جِهَاداً ف۪ي سَب۪يل۪ي وَابْتِغَٓاءَ مَرْضَات۪ي تُسِرُّونَ اِلَيْهِمْ بِالْمَوَدَّةِۗ وَاَنَا۬ اَعْلَمُ بِمَٓا اَخْفَيْتُمْ وَمَٓا اَعْلَنْتُمْۜ وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْهُ مِنْكُمْ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَٓاءَ السَّب۪يلِ
Ya eyyuhellezine amenu la tettehızu aduvvi ve aduvvekum evliyae, tulkune ileyhim bil meveddeti ve kad keferu bi ma caekum minel hakk, yuhricuner resule ve iyyakum en tu'minu billahi rabbikum, in kuntum harectum cihaden fi sebili vebtigae merdati tusirrune ileyhim bil meveddeti ve ene a'lemu bi ma ahfeytum ve ma a'lentum, ve men yef'alhu minkum fe kad dalle sevaes sebil.
They would dearly like you to reject faith, as they themselves have done, to be like them. So do not take them as allies until they migrate for God’s cause. If they turn, then seize and kill them wherever you encounter them. Take none of them as an ally or supporter.
وَدُّوا لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ كَمَا كَفَرُوا فَتَكُونُونَ سَوَٓاءً فَلَا تَتَّخِذُوا مِنْهُمْ اَوْلِيَٓاءَ حَتّٰى يُهَاجِرُوا ف۪ي سَب۪يلِ اللّٰهِۜ فَاِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَخُذُوهُمْ وَاقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ وَجَدْتُمُوهُمْۖ وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوا مِنْهُمْ وَلِياًّ وَلَا نَص۪يراًۙ
Veddu lev tekfurune kema keferu fe tekunune sevaen fe la tettehızu minhum evliyae hatta yuhaciru fi sebilillah. Fe in tevellev fe huzuhum vaktuluhum haysu vecedtumuhum, ve la tettehızu minhum veliyyen ve la nasira.
If they had believed in God, in the Prophet, and in what was sent down to him, they would never have allied themselves with the disbelievers, but most of them are rebels.
وَلَوْ كَانُوا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللّٰهِ وَالنَّبِيِّ وَمَٓا اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْهِ مَا اتَّخَذُوهُمْ اَوْلِيَٓاءَ وَلٰكِنَّ كَث۪يراً مِنْهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ
Ve lev kanu yu'minune billahi ven nebiyyi ve ma unzile ileyhi mettehazuhum evliyae ve lakinne kesiren minhum fasikun.
yet why should God not punish them when they debar people from the Sacred Mosque, although they are not its guardians? Only those mindful of God are its rightful guardians, but most of the disbelievers do not realize this.
وَمَا لَهُمْ اَلَّا يُعَذِّبَهُمُ اللّٰهُ وَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَمَا كَانُٓوا اَوْلِيَٓاءَهُۜ اِنْ اَوْلِيَٓاؤُ۬هُٓ اِلَّا الْمُتَّقُونَ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Ve ma lehum ella yuazzibehumullahu ve hum yasuddune anil mescidil harami ve ma kanu evliyaehu, in evliyauhu illel muttekune ve lakinne ekserehum la ya'lemun.
They will not escape on earth, and there will be no one other than God to protect them. Their punishment will be doubled. They could not hear, and they did not see.
اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ لَمْ يَكُونُوا مُعْجِز۪ينَ فِي الْاَرْضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰهِ مِنْ اَوْلِيَٓاءَۢ يُضَاعَفُ لَهُمُ الْعَذَابُۜ مَا كَانُوا يَسْتَط۪يعُونَ السَّمْعَ وَمَا كَانُوا يُبْصِرُونَ
Ulaike lem yekunu mu'cizine fil ardı ve ma kane lehum min dunillahi min evliya, yudaafu lehumul azab, ma kanu yestetiunes sem'a ve ma kanu yubsirun.
Do not rely on those who do evil, or the Fire may touch you, and then you will have no one to protect you from God, nor will you be helped.
وَلَا تَرْكَـنُٓوا اِلَى الَّذ۪ينَ ظَلَمُوا فَتَمَسَّكُمُ النَّارُۙ وَمَا لَكُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰهِ مِنْ اَوْلِيَٓاءَ ثُمَّ لَا تُنْصَرُونَ
Ve la terkenu ilellezine zalemu fe temessekumun naru ve ma lekum min dunillahi min evliyae summe la tunsarun.
true devotion is due to God alone. those who choose other protectors beside Him, saying, ‘We only worship them because they bring us nearer to God,’ God Himself will judge between them regarding their differences. God does not guide any ungrateful liar.
اَلَا لِلّٰهِ الدّ۪ينُ الْخَالِصُۜ وَالَّذ۪ينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِه۪ٓ اَوْلِيَٓاءَۢ مَا نَعْبُدُهُمْ اِلَّا لِيُقَرِّبُونَٓا اِلَى اللّٰهِ زُلْفٰىۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ ف۪ي مَا هُمْ ف۪يهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهْد۪ي مَنْ هُوَ كَاذِبٌ كَفَّارٌ
E la lillahid dinul halis, vellezinettehazu min dunihi evliya, ma na'buduhum illa li yukarribuna ilallahi zulfa, innallahe yahkumu beynehum fi ma hum fihi yahtelifun, innallahe la yehdi men huve kazibun keffar.
The believers fight for God’s cause, while those who reject faith fight for an unjust cause. Fight the allies of Satan: Satan’s strategies are truly weak.
اَلَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا يُقَاتِلُونَ ف۪ي سَب۪يلِ اللّٰهِۚ وَالَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا يُقَاتِلُونَ ف۪ي سَب۪يلِ الطَّاغُوتِ فَقَاتِلُٓوا اَوْلِيَٓاءَ الشَّيْطَانِۚ اِنَّ كَيْدَ الشَّيْطَانِ كَانَ ضَع۪يفاً۟
Ellezine amenu yukatilune fi sebilillah, vellezine keferu yukatilune fi sebilit taguti fe katilu evliyaeş şeytan, inne keydeş şeytani kane daifa.
You who believe, do not take as allies those who ridicule your religion and make fun of it- whether people who were given the Scripture before you, or disbelievers- and be mindful of God if you are true believers.
يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الَّذ۪ينَ اتَّخَذُوا د۪ينَكُمْ هُزُواً وَلَعِباً مِنَ الَّذ۪ينَ اُو۫تُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ وَالْكُفَّارَ اَوْلِيَٓاءَۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِن۪ينَ
Ya eyyuhellezine amenu la tettehızullezinettehazu dinekum huzuven ve leiben min ellezine utul kitabe min kablikum vel kuffara evliya, vettekullahe in kuntum mu'minin.
On the day He gathers everyone together, ‘Company of jinn! You have seduced a great many humans,’ their adherents among mankind will say, ‘Lord, we have profited from one another, but now we have reached the appointed time You decreed for us.’ He will say, ‘Your home is the Fire, and there you shall remain’- unless God wills otherwise: , your Lord is all wise, all knowing.
وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ جَم۪يعاًۚ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ قَدِ اسْتَكْثَرْتُمْ مِنَ الْاِنْسِۚ وَقَالَ اَوْلِيَٓاؤُ۬هُمْ مِنَ الْاِنْسِ رَبَّـنَا اسْتَمْتَعَ بَعْضُنَا بِبَعْضٍ وَبَلَغْنَٓا اَجَلَنَا الَّـذ۪ٓي اَجَّلْتَ لَنَاۜ قَالَ النَّارُ مَثْوٰيكُمْ خَالِد۪ينَ ف۪يهَٓا اِلَّا مَا شَٓاءَ اللّٰهُۜ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ حَك۪يمٌ عَل۪يمٌ
Ve yevme yahşuruhum cemia, ya ma'şerel cinni kadisteksertum minel ins ve kale evliyauhum minel insi rabbenestemtea ba'duna biba'dın ve belagna ecelenellezi eccelte lena, kalen naru mesvakum halidine fiha illa ma şaallahu, inne rabbeke hakimun alim.
Some He has guided and some are doomed to stray: they have taken evil ones rather than God as their masters, thinking that they are rightly guided.
فَر۪يقاً هَدٰى وَفَر۪يقاً حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الضَّلَالَةُۜ اِنَّهُمُ اتَّخَذُوا الشَّيَاط۪ينَ اَوْلِيَٓاءَ مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰهِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ اَنَّهُمْ مُهْتَدُونَ
Ferikan hada ve ferikan hakka aleyhimud dalaletu, innehumuttehazuş şeyatine evliyae min dunillahi ve yahsebune ennehum muhtedun.
Those who believed and emigrated and struggled for God’s cause with their possessions and persons, and those who gave refuge and help, are all allies of one another. As for those who believed but did not emigrate, you are not responsible for their protection until they have done so. But if they seek help from you against persecution, it is your duty to assist them, except against people with whom you have a treaty: God sees all that you do.
اِنَّ الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا وَهَاجَرُوا وَجَاهَدُوا بِاَمْوَالِهِمْ وَاَنْفُسِهِمْ ف۪ي سَب۪يلِ اللّٰهِ وَالَّذ۪ينَ اٰوَوْا وَنَصَرُٓوا اُو۬لٰٓئِكَ بَعْضُهُمْ اَوْلِيَٓاءُ بَعْضٍۜ وَالَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا وَلَمْ يُهَاجِرُوا مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ وَلَايَتِهِمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ حَتّٰى يُهَاجِرُواۚ وَاِنِ اسْتَنْصَرُوكُمْ فِي الدّ۪ينِ فَعَلَيْكُمُ النَّصْرُ اِلَّا عَلٰى قَوْمٍ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ م۪يثَاقٌۜ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَص۪يرٌ
İnnellezine amenu ve haceru ve cahedu bi emvalihim ve enfusihim fi sebilillahi vellezine avev ve nasaru ulaike ba'duhum evliyau ba'd, vellezine amenu ve lem yuhaciru ma lekum min velayetihim min şey'in hatta yuhaciru, ve inistensarukum fid dini fe aleykumun nasru illa ala kavmin beynekum ve beynehum misak, vallahu bima ta'melune basir.
