And the companions of the woods denied the emissaries
The Companions of the Thicket denied the Messengers,
The dwellers of the Woods disbelieved the messengers.
And the dwellers in the wood dales (of Midyan) denied the Messengers. (The Nation of Midyan lived between Madinah and Damascus since around 2000 B.C. They were the descendants of Prophet Abraham's son MIDYAN from his third wife QATOORA. Prophet Shoaib was raised among them around 1300 B.C. 7:85).
And the companions of the woods denied the emissaries
The people of the Sycamore disbelieved the messengers.
The dwellers of the Woods rejected the messengers.
The People of the Woods disbelieved the messengers.
The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars.
The companions of the thicket denied the messengers
the dwellers of the wooded dales gave the lie to message-bearers
The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah),
The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers.*
Just as averse were the woodlanders -Madyanites- who declined to accept Allah's message and those who conveyed the message.
The people of Aiykah (near Midian) also rejected the prophet hood.
The dwellers of Al-Aikah belied the Messengers.
The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers.
The residents of the Forest rejected the messengers
The people of Aaikah rejected the messengers
The forest-dwellers, too, called the messengers liars.
The men of the Thicket cried lies to the Envoys
The fellows of the Grove called the apostles liars;
And, verily, your Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful,
The companions (i. e., inhabitants) of the Thicket cried lies to the Emissaries,
The inhabitants of the wood also accused God's messengers of imposture.
The companions of the Wood rejected the messengers.
The dwellers of the Wood (in Midian) cried lies to the Messengers.
The inhabitants of Aykah impugned the apostles,
