If injury touches you: there has touched people an injury the like thereof. And those are the days We alternate among men, both that God might know those who heed warning, and take witnesses among you — and God loves not the wrongdoers —

If you have received a wound, they have already received a similar wound. We deal out such days to people turn by turn, so that Allah will know those who have iman and can gather martyrs from among you – Allah does not love wrongdoers –
If you are wounded, then know that the other group is also wounded. And such are the days, We alternate them between the people, so that God will know those who believe, and so He may make witnesses from among you; and God does not like the wicked.
If you suffer hardship, the enemy also suffers hardship. Such days of varying fortunes are governed by Universal Laws. Allah thus distinguishes the true believers, and blesses some of you with martyrdom. They have become witnesses to the power of Truth with their lives. Allah does not love those who displace courage with fear.

If misfortune touches you, similar misfortune has touched people as well; for it is by turns that We apportion unto men such days : and to the end that God might mark out those who have attained to faith, and choose from among you such as bear witness to the truth - since God does not love evildoers -
If ye have received a blow, the (disbelieving) people have received a blow the like thereof. These are (only) the vicissitudes which We cause to follow one another for mankind, to the end that Allah may know those who believe and may choose witnesses from among you; and Allah loveth not wrong-doers.
If a wound has befallen you a similar wound has already befallen the people who are opposed to you. We make such movements to men in turn so that Allah might mark out those who are the true men of faith and select from among you those who do really bear witness (to the Truth): for Allah does not love the wrong-doers,
If you have sustained a heavy blow with injuries, so have the enemies. We rotate fortune and alternate the days of gratification and the days of distress. So that each people have their day and Allah distinguishes the steadfast among the believers who are immovable in faith and confers the prerogative of martyrdom on those of you who qualify; Allah detests the wrongful.
If you are wounded , the enemy has got wounds too. Know that God alternates the days of victory and defeat in order to see who the true believers are. God also blesses some with martyrdom. God does not like the unjust people.
If a wound (and killing) has touched you, be sure a similar wound (and killing) has touched the others. And so are the days (good and not so good), We give to men by turns, that Allâh may test those who believe, and that He may take martyrs from among you. And Allâh likes not the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers).

If a sore touch you, a sore like it has touched people: these are days which we make to alternate amongst mankind that God may know who it is that believe, and may take from you witnesses, for God loves not the unjust;
If a wound touches you, a similar wound has touched the others: these are only the vicissitudes of varying fortune which we bring in turn to mankind that Allah may know those who it is that believe, and may choose from you witnesses, for Allah loves not the unjust.
In case a blow touches you, (This refers to the Battle of 'Uhud) then a like blow has already touched the (disbelieving) people. And such days We interchange (i.e. the change of fortune) among mankind and that Allah may know (the ones) who have believed and take to Him martyr-witnesses from among you; and Allah does not love the unjust.
If a wound hath happended unto you in war, a like wound hath already happened unto the unbelieving people: And we cause these days of different success interchangeably to succeed each other among men; that God may know those who believe, and may have martyrs from among you: -- God loveth not the workers of iniquity; -
If a wound (pain and sorrow) has touched you, be sure a similar wound has touched others; And such days (of varying fortunes) We give to men by turns: That Allah may know those who believe, and that He may take as martyrs (close to Himself) from the people those who see and sacrifice (for the sake of truth). And Allah loves not those who do wrong.
If you have received an outer injury (in the Battle of Uhud), surely, the (disbelieving) people have already received a similar injury (in the same battle) - these days of vicissitudes are those which We cause to alternate among the people, (it is so that you may be admonished) and that (among other things), Allâh may distinguish those who (really) believe and so that He may raise martyrs from among you; and Allâh does not love the unjust.
If a wound afflicts you, a like wound has already afflicted those people; and We make such vicissitudes rotate among mankind, so that Allah may ascertain those who have faith, and that He may take martyrs from among you, and Allah does not like the wrongdoers.
