(Move thou not thy tongue with it to hasten it.

Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste.

MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste,
Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it.
(O Prophet),* do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory).
Do not rush O Muhammad to speak, but hold your tongue and listen to what the Angel relates.
O’ Mohammad, be patient in reciting and putting this Qur’an together.
Move not your tongue concerning (the Qur’ân, O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) to make haste therewith.

Do not rush your tongue trying to memorize ˹a revelation of˺ the Quran.
(O Prophet,) do not move your tongue (during revelation) for (reciting) it (the Qur’ān) to receive it in hurry.

Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it;

Do not move your tongue with it (The Qur'an) to hasten on with it;
Move not thy tongue, O Mohammed, in repeating the revelations brought thee by Gabriel, before he shall have finished the same, that thou mayest quickly commit them to memory:
Move not your tongue (O Prophet!) about the (Quran) to hurry on with it (in its reading).
(Prophet! when We reveal the Qur'ân) do not move your tongue (with a mind) to repeat (this revelation in order to commit it to your memory) hurriedly.
