“Other than God?” They will say: “They have strayed from us; nay, we called not before to anything.” Thus does God send astray the false claimers of guidance.

and they will reply, ‘They have forsaken us. Or rather we were not calling to anything at all before.’ That is how Allah misguides the kafirun.
"Beside God" They will Say: "They have abandoned us. No, we did not used to call on anything before!" Thus God leads the rejecters astray.
- Besides Allah?" They will groan, "They have left us groping in the dark. Nay, rather, we were calling upon what existed not." This is how Allah lets go astray those who choose to live in darkness by denying the Truth and thus remaining ungrateful to Guidance. ('Kafirin' = Deniers of the Truth = Those who choose to remain in darkness = Those who are ungrateful for the Divine Guidance = Those who conceal the Truth).
“Other than God?” They will say: “They have strayed from us; nay, we called not before to anything.” Thus does God send astray the false claimers of guidance.
"Beside God?" They will say: "They have abandoned us. No, we did not used to call on anything before!" Thus God leads the rejecters astray.
beside God?" They will say, "They have abandoned us. No, we used not to call on anything before!" Thus God leads the ingrates astray.
"beside GOD?" They will say, "They have abandoned us. In fact, when we worshipped them, we were worshipping nothing." Thus does GOD send the disbelievers astray.
Apart from God?" They will answer: "They have left us in the lurch and fled. In fact it was nothing that we prayed to before." That is how God sends the unbelievers astray.
Other than Allah ?" They will say, "They have departed from us; rather, we did not used to invoke previously anything. " Thus does Allah put astray the disbelievers.
side by side with God?" They will answer: "They have forsaken us - or, rather, what we were wont to invoke aforetime did not exist at all!” And they will be told: “It is thus that God lets the deniers of the truth go astray:
Beside Allah? They say: They have failed us; but we used not to pray to anything before. Thus doth Allah send astray the disbelievers (in His guidance).
associated with Allah in His Divinity?"* They will say: "We have lost them; rather, we never used to call upon anyone before.”* Thus will Allah cause them to stumble in error.
They shall say: "They have vanished away. " And they add, " in effect it is quite evident that we conceived the absent to be present and we reverenced and entertained imagination." And thus does Allah neglect those infidels who deserve ill.
Now we realize that we were worshipping nothing of real value" They
"Besides Allâh"? They will say: "They have vanished from us: Nay, we did not invoke (worship) anything before." Thus Allâh leads astray the disbelievers.
"In derogation of Allah?" They will reply: "They have left us in the lurch: Nay, we invoked not, of old, anything (that had real existence)." Thus does Allah leave the Unbelievers to stray.
with Allah?" They will cry, "They have ˹all˺ failed us. In fact, we did not invoke anything ˹real˺ before.” This is how Allah leaves the disbelievers to stray.
beside Allah?" They will say, "They are lost to us, rather, we used to invoke nothing at all.” This is how Allah makes disbelievers get lost.
besides God?’ They will say, ‘They have abandoned us: those we called upon before were really nothing at all.’ ‘This is how God lets disbelievers go astray,
They shall say, 'They have gone astray from us; nay, but it was nothing at all that we called upon aforetime. ' Even so God leads astray the unbelievers.
beside God?' They shall say, 'They have strayed away from us; nay, we did not call before upon anything!' - thus does God lead the misbelievers astray.
Besides Allah?" They shall say, "They have failed us. Nay, we used not to pray to anything before." Thus does Allah confound the unbelievers.
Apart from Allah?" They will say, "They have erred away from us; no indeed, we used not to invoke anything earlier. " Thus Allah leads the disbelievers into error.
besides God? They shall answer, they have withdrawn themselves from us: Yea, we called on nothing heretofore. Thus doth God lead the unbelievers into error.
"Besides (and in offense to) Allah?" They will reply: "They have vanished and left us; No, we did not call upon anything before, anything (that had real existence) from the old. " Thus Allah leaves the unbelievers to stray.
`(And worshipped them) apart from Allâh?' They will say, `They are lost to us. Infact, we never prayed to anything (beside Allâh) before this.' Thus does Allâh adjudge the disbelievers to be lost.
besides Allah?’ They will say, ‘They have forsaken us. Rather, we did not invoke anything before.’ That is how Allah leads astray the faithless.
