And not equal are the good and the evil. Repel thou with that which is better, and then is he between whom and thee is enmity like a loyal friend;

A good action and a bad action are not the same. Repel the bad with something better and, if there is enmity between you and someone else, he will be like a bosom friend.
Not equal are the good and the bad response. You shall resort to the one which is better. Thus, the one who used to be your enemy, may become your best friend.
