You did not think to shield yourselves from your hearing, sight and skin testifying against you and you thought that Allah would never know much of what you did.
And there was no way you could hide from the testimony of your own hearing, or your eyes, or your skins. In fact, you thought that God was unaware of much of what you do.

When you used to conceal yourselves (while committing misdeeds) you never thought that your ears or your eyes or your skins would ever bear witness against you; you rather fancied that Allah does not know a great deal of what you do.
But you could not hide yourselves, even if you wanted to, from the notice of your hearing or your sight or your skins lest they should bear witness against your deeds of iniquity. The fact is, you did not think that Allah knows much of what you do.
Where in the universe will you hide from your own eyes, ears and skins that you never thought will witness against you? You were under impression that God is not aware of all your deeds!
