Have they not considered that God expands provision for whom He wills, and He straitens? In that are proofs for people who believe.
Do they not see that Allah expands provision for whoever He wills and also restricts it? There are certainly Signs in that for people who have iman.

Do they -the infidels- not see that Allah gives livelihood generously and confers support gratuitously on whom He will and He also gives with restraint and by measure to whom He will. These divine actions are the best interpreters of Allah's Omnipotence and Authority that are apprehended by the senses of those whose hearts have been touched with the divine hand.
Can they not understand that God gives some more and some less? In this unequal distribution of income there is much food for thought for those who think.

And when We make people taste of mercy they rejoice in it, and if an evil befall them for what their hands have already wrought, lo! They are in despair.
And have they not seen that Allah outspreads the provision to whomever He decides and He estimates it? Surely in that are indeed signs for a people who believe.
Do they not see that God bestoweth provision abundantly on whom He pleaseth, and is sparing unto whom He pleaseth? Verily herein are signs unto people who believe.
Do they not see that Allah gives the means (to live) in plenty or reduces them to anyone He pleases? Surely, in that are Signs for those who believe.
Do they not see that Allâh multiplies the means of livelihood for whomsoever He will and makes them scant (for whomsoever He will). Behold there are signs in this for a people who would believe.
Do they not see that Allah expands the provision for whomever He wishes, and tightens it? There are indeed signs in that for a people who have faith.
