A group of the People of the Book say, ‘At the beginning of the day, you should claim to have iman in what was sent down to those who have iman, and then at the end of the day, you should reject it, so that hopefully they will revert.
And a group from among the people of the Scripture said: "Believe in what was revealed to those who believed during the beginning of the day, and reject it by the end of it, perhaps they will return. "
Some People of the Book say to one another, "Declare belief in what has been revealed to the believers in the morning, and reject belief in the evening so that the believers might waver and revert. Or let us declare belief in some part of the Revelation and deny the other to sound fair and cause confusion."

And some of the followers of earlier revelation say : "Declare your belief in what has been revealed unto those who believe at the beginning of the day, and deny the truth of what came later, so that they might go back ;
And a party of the People of the Scripture say: Believe in that which hath been revealed unto those who believe at the opening of the day, and disbelieve at the end thereof, in order that they may return;
A party of the People of the Book said: 'Believe in the morning what has been revealed to those who believe, and then deny it in the evening that they may thus retract (from their faith).'*
In their malice, did some among Ahl al-Kitab incite their fellow religionists to pretend at the beginning of the day that they give credence to what has been revealed to you Muslims. Then at the end of the day they repudiated it as if it were a second thought, expecting that those who are unsettled in allegiance or belief among you may hopefully reject it all.
Some of the followers of the Scripture saying in the morning that they have believed and later in the day proclaiming that they are disgusted with Islam
And a party of the people of the Scripture say: "Believe in the morning in that which is revealed to the believers (Muslims), and reject it at the end of the day, so that they may turn back.
A section of the People of the Book say: "Believe in the morning what is revealed to the believers, but reject it at the end of the day; perchance they may (themselves) Turn back;
A group among the People of the Book said ˹to one another˺, "Believe in what has been revealed to the believers in the morning and reject it in the evening, so they may abandon their faith.

And some of those to whom the scriptures were given, say, believe in that which hath been sent down unto those who believe, in the beginning of the day; and deny it in the end thereof; that they may go back from their faith:
