Satan threatens you with the prospect of poverty and commands you to do foul deeds; God promises you His forgiveness and His abundance: God is limitless and all knowing,
الشَّيْطَانُ يَعِدُكُمُ الْفَقْرَ وَيَأْمُرُكُم بِالْفَحْشَاء وَاللّهُ يَعِدُكُم مَّغْفِرَةً مِّنْهُ وَفَضْلاً وَاللّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Eş şeytanu yeidukumul fakra ve ye'murukumbil fahşai vallahu yeidukum magfireten minhuve fadla, vallahu vasiun alim.
Satan is your enemy––so treat him as an enemy––and invites his followers only to enter the blazing fire.
إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ فَاتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّا إِنَّمَا يَدْعُو حِزْبَهُ لِيَكُونُوا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ
İnneş şeytane lekum aduvvun fettehızuhu aduvva, innema yed'u hızbehu li yekunu min ashabis seir.
But Satan made them slip, and removed them from the state they were in. We said, ‘Get out, all of you! You are each other’s enemy. On earth you will have a place to stay and livelihood for a time.’
فَأَزَلَّهُمَا الشَّيْطَانُ عَنْهَا فَأَخْرَجَهُمَا مِمَّا كَانَا فِيهِ وَقُلْنَا اهْبِطُواْ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ وَلَكُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَى حِينٍ
Fe ezellehumaş şeytanu anha fe ahrecehuma mimma kana fih, ve kulnahbitu ba'dukum li ba'din aduvv, ve lekum fil ardı mustekarrun ve metaun ila hin.
It is Satan who urges you to fear his followers; do not fear them, but fear Me, if you are true believers.
إِنَّمَا ذَلِكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ يُخَوِّفُ أَوْلِيَاءهُ فَلاَ تَخَافُوهُمْ وَخَافُونِ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
İnnema zalikumuş şeytanu yuhavvifu evliya'eh, fe la tehafuhum ve hafuni in kuntum mu'minin.
With intoxicants and gambling, Satan seeks only to incite enmity and hatred among you, and to stop you remembering God and prayer. Will you not give them up?
إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَن يُوقِعَ بَيْنَكُمُ الْعَدَاوَةَ وَالْبَغْضَاء فِي الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِ وَيَصُدَّكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ اللّهِ وَعَنِ الصَّلاَةِ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّنتَهُونَ
İnnema yuriduş şeytanu en yukia beynekumul adavete vel bagdae fil hamri vel meysiri ve yasuddekum an zikrillahi ve anis salah, fe hel entum muntehun.
Satan whispered to them so as to expose their nakedness, which had been hidden from them: he said, ‘Your Lord only forbade you this tree to prevent you becoming angels or immortals,’
فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا الشَّيْطَانُ لِيُبْدِيَ لَهُمَا مَا وُورِيَ عَنْهُمَا مِن سَوْءَاتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَاكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ إِلاَّ أَن تَكُونَا مَلَكَيْنِ أَوْ تَكُونَا مِنَ الْخَالِدِينَ
Fe vesvese lehumuş şeytanu li yubdiye lehuma ma vuriye anhuma min sev'atihima ve kale ma nehakuma rabbukuma an hazihiş şecereti illa en tekuna melekeyni ev tekuna minel halidin.
If Satan should prompt you to do something, seek refuge with God- He is all hearing, all knowing-
وَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللّهِ إِنَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Ve imma yenzeganneke mineş şeytani nezgun festeiz billah, innehu semiun alim.
Satan made their foul deeds seem fair to them, and said, ‘No one will conquer you today, for I will be right beside you,’ but when the armies came within sight of one another he turned on his heels, saying, ‘This is where I leave you: I see what you do not, and I fear God- God is severe in His punishment.’
وَإِذْ زَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ وَقَالَ لاَ غَالِبَ لَكُمُ الْيَوْمَ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَإِنِّي جَارٌ لَّكُمْ فَلَمَّا تَرَاءتِ الْفِئَتَانِ نَكَصَ عَلَى عَقِبَيْهِ وَقَالَ إِنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِّنكُمْ إِنِّي أَرَى مَا لاَ تَرَوْنَ إِنِّيَ أَخَافُ اللّهَ وَاللّهُ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ
Ve iz zeyyene lehumuş şeytanu a'malehum ve kale la galibe lekumul yevme minen nasi ve inni carun lekum, fe lemma teraetil fietani nekesa ala akıbeyhi ve kale inni beriun minkum inni era ma la terevne inni ehafullah, vallahu şedidul ıkab.
When everything has been decided, Satan will say, ‘God gave you a true promise. I too made promises but they were false ones: I had no power over you except to call you, and you responded to my call, so do not blame me; blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I reject the way you associated me with God before.’ A bitter torment awaits such wrongdoers,
وَقَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ لَمَّا قُضِيَ الأَمْرُ إِنَّ اللّهَ وَعَدَكُمْ وَعْدَ الْحَقِّ وَوَعَدتُّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْ وَمَا كَانَ لِيَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَانٍ إِلاَّ أَن دَعَوْتُكُمْ فَاسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِي فَلاَ تَلُومُونِي وَلُومُواْ أَنفُسَكُم مَّا أَنَاْ بِمُصْرِخِكُمْ وَمَا أَنتُمْ بِمُصْرِخِيَّ إِنِّي كَفَرْتُ بِمَآ أَشْرَكْتُمُونِ مِن قَبْلُ إِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Ve kaleş şeytanu lemma kudıyel emru innallahe veadekum va'del hakkı ve veadtukum fe ahleftukum, ve ma kane liye aleykum min sultanin illa en deavtukum festecebtum li, fe la telumuni ve lumu enfusekum, ma ene bi musrihikum ve ma entum bi musrıhıyy, inni kefertu bi ma eşrektumuni min kabl, innaz zalimine lehum azabun elim.
and guarded it from every stoned satan:
وَحَفِظْنَاهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ رَّجِيمٍ
Ve hafıznaha min kulli şeytanin recim.
But Satan whispered to Adam, saying, ‘Adam, shall I show you the tree of immortality and power that never decays?’
فَوَسْوَسَ إِلَيْهِ الشَّيْطَانُ قَالَ يَا آدَمُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى شَجَرَةِ الْخُلْدِ وَمُلْكٍ لَّا يَبْلَى
Fe vesvese ileyhiş şeytanu kale ya ademu hel edulluke ala şeceretil huldi ve mulkin la yebla.
and made them a safeguard against every rebellious devil:
وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ مَّارِدٍ
Ve hıfzan min kulli şeytanin marid.
If a prompting from Satan should stir you, seek refuge with God: He is the All Hearing and the All Knowing.
وَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Ve imma yenzeganneke mineş şeytani nezgun festeız billah, innehu huves semiul alim.
do not let Satan hinder you, for he is your sworn enemy.
وَلَا يَصُدَّنَّكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ
Ve la yasuddennekumuş şeytan, innehu lekum aduvvun mubin.
secret conversation is the work of Satan, designed to cause trouble to the believers, though it cannot harm them in the least unless God permits it. Let the believers put their trust in God.
إِنَّمَا النَّجْوَى مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ لِيَحْزُنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَلَيْسَ بِضَارِّهِمْ شَيْئًا إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ
İnne men necva mineş şeytani li yahzunellezine amenu ve leyse bi darrihim şey'en illa bi iznillah, ve alallahi fel yetevekkelil mu'minun.
Satan has gained control over them and made them forget God. They are on Satan’s side, and Satan’s side will be the losers:
اسْتَحْوَذَ عَلَيْهِمُ الشَّيْطَانُ فَأَنسَاهُمْ ذِكْرَ اللَّهِ أُوْلَئِكَ حِزْبُ الشَّيْطَانِ أَلَا إِنَّ حِزْبَ الشَّيْطَانِ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ
İstahveze aleyhimuş şeytanu fe ensahum zikrallah, ulaike hizbuş şeytan, ela inne hizbeşşeytani humul hasirun.
Like Satan, who says to man, ‘Do not believe!’ but when man disbelieves, says, ‘I disown you; I fear God, the Lord of the Worlds,’
كَمَثَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ إِذْ قَالَ لِلْإِنسَانِ اكْفُرْ فَلَمَّا كَفَرَ قَالَ إِنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِّنكَ إِنِّي أَخَافُ اللَّهَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Ke meseliş şeytani iz kale lil insanikfur, fe lemma kefere kale inni beriun minke inni ehafullahe rabbel alemin.
Children of Adam, do not let Satan seduce you, as he did your parents, causing them to leave the Garden, stripping them of their garments to expose their nakedness to them: he and his forces can see you from where you cannot see them: We have made evil ones allies to those who do not believe.
يَا بَنِي آدَمَ لاَ يَفْتِنَنَّكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ كَمَا أَخْرَجَ أَبَوَيْكُم مِّنَ الْجَنَّةِ يَنزِعُ عَنْهُمَا لِبَاسَهُمَا لِيُرِيَهُمَا سَوْءَاتِهِمَا إِنَّهُ يَرَاكُمْ هُوَ وَقَبِيلُهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لاَ تَرَوْنَهُمْ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا الشَّيَاطِينَ أَوْلِيَاء لِلَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Ya beni ademe la yeftinennekumuş şeytanu kema ahrece ebeveykum minel cenneti yenziu anhuma libasehuma li yuriyehuma sev'atihima innehu yerakum huve ve kabiluhu min haysu la terevnehum inna cealneş şeyatine evliyae lillezine la yu'minun.
those who are aware of God think of Him when Satan prompts them to do something and immediately they can see;
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَواْ إِذَا مَسَّهُمْ طَائِفٌ مِّنَ الشَّيْطَانِ تَذَكَّرُواْ فَإِذَا هُم مُّبْصِرُونَ
İnnellezinettekav iza messehum taifun mineş şeytani tezekkeru fe izahum mubsırun.
Father, do not worship Satan- Satan has rebelled against the Lord of Mercy.
يَا أَبَتِ لَا تَعْبُدِ الشَّيْطَانَ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَنِ عَصِيًّا
Ya ebeti la ta'budiş şeytan, inneş şeytane kane lir rahmani asıyya.
He makes Satan’s insinuations a temptation only for the sick at heart and those whose hearts are hardened- the evildoers are profoundly opposed -
لِيَجْعَلَ مَا يُلْقِي الشَّيْطَانُ فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَالْقَاسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ لَفِي شِقَاقٍ بَعِيدٍ
Li yec'ale ma yulkış şeytanu fitneten lillezine fi kulubihim maradun vel kasiyeti kulubuhum, ve innez zalimine le fi şikakın baid.
Believers, do not follow in Satan’s footsteps- if you do so, he will urge you to indecency and evil. If it were not for God’s bounty and mercy towards you, not one of you would ever have attained purity. God purifies whoever He will: God is all hearing, all seeing.
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّبِعُوا خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَمَن يَتَّبِعْ خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِنَّهُ يَأْمُرُ بِالْفَحْشَاء وَالْمُنكَرِ وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ مَا زَكَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ أَبَدًا وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ يُزَكِّي مَن يَشَاء وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Ya eyyuhellezine amenu la tettebiu hutuvatiş şeytan, ve men yettebi' hutuvatiş şeytani fe innehu ye'muru bil fahşai vel munker ve lev la fadlullahi aleykum ve rahmetuhu ma zeka minkum min ehadin ebeden ve lakinnallahe yuzekki men yeşau, vallahu semi'un alim.
This is not the word of an outcast devil.
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَانٍ رَجِيمٍ
Ve ma huve bi kavli şeytanin recim.
But those who take usury will rise up on the Day of Resurrection like someone tormented by Satan’s touch. That is because they say, ‘Trade and usury are the same,’ but God has allowed trade and forbidden usury. Whoever, on receiving God’s warning, stops taking usury may keep his past gains- God will be his judge- but whoever goes back to usury will be an inhabitant of the Fire, there to remain.
الَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ الرِّبَا لاَ يَقُومُونَ إِلاَّ كَمَا يَقُومُ الَّذِي يَتَخَبَّطُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ مِنَ الْمَسِّ ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُواْ إِنَّمَا الْبَيْعُ مِثْلُ الرِّبَا وَأَحَلَّ اللّهُ الْبَيْعَ وَحَرَّمَ الرِّبَا فَمَن جَاءهُ مَوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ فَانتَهَىَ فَلَهُ مَا سَلَفَ وَأَمْرُهُ إِلَى اللّهِ وَمَنْ عَادَ فَأُوْلَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
Ellezine ye'kuluner riba la yekumune illa kema yekumullezi yetehabbetuhuş şeytanu minel mess, zalike bi ennehum kalu innemal bey'u mislur riba, ve ehallallahul bey'a ve harramer riba fe men caehu mev'izatun min rabbihi fenteha fe lehu ma selef, ve emruhu ilallah, ve men ade fe ulaike ashabun nar, hum fiha halidun.
, tell them the story of the man to whom We gave Our messages: he sloughed them off, so Satan took him as his follower and he went astray-
وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ الَّذِيَ آتَيْنَاهُ آيَاتِنَا فَانسَلَخَ مِنْهَا فَأَتْبَعَهُ الشَّيْطَانُ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْغَاوِينَ
Vetlu aleyhim nebeellezi ateynahu ayatina fenseleha minha fe etbeahuş şeytanu fe kane minel gavin.
Joseph said to the one he knew would be saved, ‘Mention me to your master,’ but Satan made him forget to do this, and so Joseph remained in prison for a number of years.
وَقَالَ لِلَّذِي ظَنَّ أَنَّهُ نَاجٍ مِّنْهُمَا اذْكُرْنِي عِندَ رَبِّكَ فَأَنسَاهُ الشَّيْطَانُ ذِكْرَ رَبِّهِ فَلَبِثَ فِي السِّجْنِ بِضْعَ سِنِينَ
Ve kale lillezi zanne ennehu nacin minhumazkurni inde rabbike fe ensahuş şeytanu zikre rabbihi fe lebise fis sicni bid'a sinin.
By God, We have sent messengers before you to other communities, but Satan made their foul deeds seem alluring to them. He is the patron of these present disbelievers too, and a painful punishment awaits them all.
تَاللّهِ لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَى أُمَمٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمُ الْيَوْمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Tallahi lekad erselna ila umemin min kablike fe zeyyene lehumuş şeytanu a'malehum fe huve veliyyuhumul yevme ve lehum azabun elim.
, when you recite the Quran, seek God’s protection from the outcast, Satan.
فَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ الْقُرْآنَ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
Fe iza kare'tel kur'ane festeız billahi mineş şeytanir racim.
I found that she and her people worshipped the sun instead of God. Satan has made their deeds seem alluring to them, and diverted them from the right path: they cannot find the right path.
وَجَدتُّهَا وَقَوْمَهَا يَسْجُدُونَ لِلشَّمْسِ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ فَهُمْ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ
Vecedtuha ve kavmeha yescudune liş şemsi min dunillahi ve zeyyene lehümuş şeytanu a'malehum fe saddehum anis sebili fe hum la yehtedun.
We assign an evil one as a comrade for whoever turns away from the revelations of the Lord of Mercy:
وَمَن يَعْشُ عَن ذِكْرِ الرَّحْمَنِ نُقَيِّضْ لَهُ شَيْطَانًا فَهُوَ لَهُ قَرِينٌ
Ve men ya'şu an zikrir rahmani nukayyıd lehu şeytanen fe huve lehu karin.
