And they measured God not with the measure due Him when they said: “God has not sent down upon a mortal anything.” Say thou: “Who sent down the Writ which Moses brought as a light and guidance for men?” (You make it into parchments which you show; and you conceal much; and you were taught what you knew not, you and your fathers.) Say thou: “God”; then leave thou them playing in their vain discourses.

They do not measure Allah with His true measure when they say, ‘Allah would not send down anything to a mere human being. ’ Say: ‘Who, then, sent down the Book which Musa brought as a Light and Guidance for the people?’ You put it down on sheets of paper to display it while concealing much. You were taught things you did not know, neither you nor your forefathers. Say: ‘Allah!’ Then leave them engrossed in playing their games.
And they did not appreciate God as He deserves to be appreciated, for they said: "God has never sent down anything to any human being. " Say: "Who then has sent down the Scripture which Moses had come with, a light and a guidance for the people You treat it just as paper, you show some of it and conceal much, and you were taught what neither you nor your fathers knew." Say: "God has." Then leave them playing in their folly.
People do not value Allah as He must be valued when they say, "Allah has not revealed His Message to any human being. " Ask them, "Who then revealed the Scripture which Moses brought, a Light and Guidance for people? Although you put it down on parchment which you show, but you conceal a lot. You were taught what neither you, nor your ancestors knew before." Say, "Allah (revealed it)." Then leave them to play at their vain talk.
And they did not appreciate God as He deserves to be appreciated, for they said: "God has never sent down anything to any human being." Say: "Who then has sent down the Book which Moses had come with, a light and a guidance for the people? You treat it simply as paper for display, and you conceal much; and you were taught what neither you nor your fathers knew." Say: "God has." Then leave them playing in their folly.
They did not value God as He deserves to be valued, for they said, "God has never sent down anything to any human being." Say, "Who then has sent down the book which Moses had come with, a light and guidance for the people? You treat it just as scrolls of paper; you show some of it and conceal much, though you were taught what neither you nor your fathers knew." Say, "God has." Then leave them playing in their folly.
They never valued GOD as He should be valued. Thus, they said, "GOD does not reveal anything to any human being." Say, "Who then revealed the scripture that Moses brought, with light and guidance for the people?" You put it down on paper to proclaim it, while concealing a lot of it. You were taught what you never knew - you and your parents. Say, "GOD (is the One who revealed it)," then leave them in their heedlessness, playing.
But they failed to make a just estimation of God when they said: "He did not reveal to any man any thing. " Ask them: "Who then revealed the Book that Moses brought, -- a guidance and light for men, -- which you treat as sheafs of paper, which you display, yet conceal a great deal, though through it you were taught things you did not know before, nor even your fathers knew?" Say: "God," and leave them to the sport of engaging in vain discourse.
And they did not appraise Allah with true appraisal when they said, " Allah did not reveal to a human being anything. " Say, "Who revealed the Scripture that Moses brought as light and guidance to the people? You make it into pages, disclosing it and concealing much. And you were taught that which you knew not - neither you nor your fathers." Say, " Allah ." Then leave them in their discourse, amusing themselves.
For, no true understanding of God have they when they say, "Never has God revealed anything unto man. " Say: "Who has bestowed from on high the divine writ which Moses brought unto men as a light and a guidance, which you treat as leaves of paper, making a show of them the while you conceal much - although you have been taught what neither you nor your forefathers had ever known?" Say: "God !" - and then leave them to play at their vain talk.
And they measure not the power of Allah its true measure when they say: Allah hath naught revealed unto a human being. Say (unto the Jews who speak thus): Who revealed the Book which Moses brought, a light and guidance for mankind, which ye have put on parchments which ye show, but ye hide much (thereof), and (by which) ye were taught that which ye knew not yourselves nor (did) your fathers (know it)? Say: Allah. Then leave them to their play of cavilling.
They did not form any proper estimate of Allah when they said: 'Allah has not revealed anything to any man.'* Ask them: 'The Book which Moses brought as a light and guidance for men and which you keep in bits and scraps, some of which you disclose while the rest you conceal, even though through it you were taught that which neither you nor your forefathers knew -who was it who revealed it?'* Say: 'Allah!'- and then leave them to sport with their argumentation.
And they* did not credit Allah with the attributes asserted as His own; they failed to ponder His marvels crediting His Omnipotence. They said: "Never did Allah disclose divine knowledge to a human being nor did He admit discourse directly or indirectly to His Omnipotence and Authority". Ask them; "Who then had sent down the Book you knew that Mussa presented to his people, the Book flowing forth with illumination and enlightenment to illuminate the intellect of mankind; the Book the Jews divided and again broke up into subdivisions and published the parts they planned to disclose and concealed the many parts which would publish their shame and their immorality; the Book which imparted to them divine knowledge and acquainted them intellectually with facts neither they nor their fathers had ever known". "Is it not Allah!" Let them Muhammad drown themselves in the nonsensical and engage in amusement which is the happiness of those who cannot think. * The Meccan Infidels and the Jews
Those who say that God has not revealed nothing to nobody, do not appreciate the Lord. Reply: "Then who gave the Scripture (which was a beacon an guidance for the mankind) to Moses?" Is it not true that you put a part of the Scripture in writing and hide the rest of it? Were you not taught by this revelation of God what you and your forefathers did not know? Say: "It is God revealed the Scripture" and leave them play their games.
They (the Jews, Quraish pagans, idolaters) did not estimate Allâh with an estimation due to Him when they said: "Nothing did Allâh send down to any human being (by revelation)." Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Who then sent down the Book which Mûsâ (Moses) brought, a light and a guidance to mankind which you (the Jews) have made into (separate) papersheets, disclosing (some of it) and concealing much. And you (believers in Allâh and His Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) were taught (through the Qur’ân) that which neither you nor your fathers knew." Say: "Allâh (sent it down)." Then leave them to play in their vain discussions. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubî).
No just estimate of Allah do they make when they say: "Nothing doth Allah send down to man (by way of revelation)" Say: "Who then sent down the Book which Moses brought?- a light and guidance to man: But ye make it into (separate) sheets for show, while ye conceal much (of its contents): therein were ye taught that which ye knew not- neither ye nor your fathers." Say: "Allah (sent it down)": Then leave them to plunge in vain discourse and trifling.
And they have not shown Allah His proper reverence when they said, "Allah has revealed nothing to any human being." Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Who then revealed the Book brought forth by Moses as a light and guidance for people, which you split into separate sheets—revealing some and hiding much? You have been taught ˹through this Quran˺ what neither you nor your forefathers knew.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Allah ˹revealed it˺!” Then leave them to amuse themselves with falsehood.
They did not hold Allah in due esteem when they said, "Allah has not sent down anything to a human being." Say, “Who has sent down the Book brought by Mūsā as a light and a guidance for people, which you keep in various sheets (some of which) you disclose, and a lot of which you conceal, and (by which) you were taught what you did not know, neither you nor your fathers?” Say, “Allah.” Then leave them to play with whatever they indulge in.
They have no grasp of God’s true measure when they say, ‘God has sent nothing down to a mere mortal.’ Say, ‘Who was it who sent down the Scripture, which Moses brought as a light and a guide to people, which you made into separate sheets, showing some but hiding many? You were taught things that neither you nor your forefathers had known.’ Say, ‘God ,’ then leave them engrossed in their vain talk.
They measured not God with His true measure when they said, 'God has not sent down aught on any mortal. ' Say: 'Who sent down the Book that Moses brought as a light and a guidance to men? You put it into parchments, revealing them, and hiding much; and you were taught that you knew not, you and your fathers.' Say: 'God.' Then leave them alone, playing their game of plunging.
They do not prize God at His true worth when they say, 'God has never revealed to mortal anything. ' Say, 'Who revealed the Book wherewith Moses came, a light and a guidance unto men? Ye put it on papers which ye show, though ye hide much; and ye are taught what ye knew not, neither you nor your fathers.' Say, 'God,' then leave them in their discussion to play.
They estimate not the power of Allah by its true measure (or worth) when they say, "Allah has never revealed anything to a mortal. " Say, "Who revealed the Book wherewith Moses came, a light and a guidance unto men? You put it on papers which you show, though you hide much; and you are taught by it that which you knew not, neither you nor your fathers." Say, "Allah," then leave them in their play (vain disputation).
And in no way have they estimated Allah His true estimate as they said, "In no way has Allah sent down anything on any mortal. " Say, "Who sent down the Book that Mûsa (Moses) came with (as) a light and a guidance to mankind? You make it into papers, displaying them, and concealing much; and you were taught what you did not know yourselves, nor your fathers." Say, " Allah." Thereafter leave them out, playing in their wading (i.e., plunge in vain discourse).
And they do not make a just estimate of the attributes of Allah, when they say, 'Allah has not revealed anything to any man. Say, 'Who revealed the Book which Moses brought, a light and a guidance for the people -- though you treat it as scrapes of paper, some of which you show while you hide much thereof and you have been taught that which neither you nor your fathers knew?' Say, 'Allah.' Then leave them to amuse themselves with idle talk.
They do not make the right measure of the Power of Allah when they say: "Allah sends nothing down to man (as revelation):" Say: "Who then sent down the Book (Torah) that Musa (Moses) brought? (It is) a light and a guidance to man: But you make it into (separate) sheets for show, while you hide much (of its contents): In there, you were taught that which you did not know— Neither you nor your fathers. " Say: "Allah (sent it down):" Then leave them to sink into idle talk and meaningless remarks.
They (-the deniers) have not appreciated Allâh with the true honour due to Him when they said, `Allâh has not revealed anything to any human being. ' Say, `Who had revealed the Scripture which Moses brought; a light and guidance for the people, (though) you render it as scraps of paper, (some of) which you show while the major portion you hide, whereas you have been taught (through) that which you did not know, neither you, nor your forefathers?' Say, `Allâh (revealed it).' Then leave them amusing themselves in their vain discourse.
They did not regard Allah with the regard due to Him when they said, ‘Allah has not sent down anything to any human. ’ Say, ‘Who had sent down the Book that was brought by Moses as a light and guidance for the people, which You make into parchments that you display, while you conceal much of it, and you were taught what you did not know, you nor your fathers?’ Say, ‘Allah!’ Then leave them to play around in their impious gossip.
