Those to whom We gave the Writ recognise it as they recognise their sons. Those who lose their souls, they do not believe.
Those We have given the Book recognise it as they recognise their own children. As for those who have lost their own selves, they have no iman.
Those to whom We have given the Scripture know it as they know their children. Those who lost their souls, they do not believe.
Those who have been given the Scripture, recognize this fact as they recognize their sons (the fact of God's Transcendental Uniqueness and Oneness). Yet those who have squandered their own "Self" fail to accept such undeniable Truth.
Those to whom We gave the Writ recognise it as they recognise their sons. Those who lose their souls, they do not believe.
Those to whom We have given the Book know it as they know their children. Those who lost their souls, they do not believe.
Those to whom We have given the book know it as they know their children. Those who lost themselves, they do not acknowledge.
Those to whom we have given the scripture recognize this as they recognize their own children. The ones who lose their souls are those who do not believe.
Those to whom We have given the Book know it distinctly as they know their sons; but those who are lost of soul do not believe.
Those to whom We have given the Scripture recognize it as they recognize their sons. Those who will lose themselves do not believe.
They unto whom we have vouchsafed revelation aforetime know this as they know their own children; yet those who have squandered their own selves -it is they who refuse to believe.
Those unto whom We gave the Scripture recognise (this revelation) as they recognise their sons. Those who ruin their own souls will not believe.
Those whom We have given the Book will recognize this just as they recognize their own ofspring;* but those who have courted their own ruin will not believe.
Those who were recipients of Our Word -Jews and Christians- to whom We gave the Book -AL-Tawrah and AL-Injil (Torah and Bible) do recognize this Book -the Quran- as well as the Messenger to whom it is sent. They assert the existence of this reality as much as they are able to assert the identity of their sons, but those who are cheaply vicious to the perdition of their own souls refuse to recognize the truth.
Those who have received the Scriptures (Jews & Christians) recognize this as clearly as they recognize their own children. Only those choose to disagree that have lost their souls.
Those to whom We have given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) recognize him (i.e. Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم as a Messenger of Allâh, and they also know that there is no Ilâh (God) but Allâh and Islâm is Allâh’s Religion), as they recognize their own sons. Those who have lost (destroyed) themselves will not believe. (Tafsir At-Tabarî).
Those to whom We have given the Book know this as they know their own sons. Those who have lost their own souls refuse therefore to believe.

Those to whom We have given the Book (Scripture) know this as they know their own sons. Those who have lost their own souls (and they) therefore refuse to believe.
Those whom We have given this perfect Book recognise him (-the Prophet Muhammad) as they recognise their own sons. Yet those who have lost their souls will not believe.
Those whom We have given the Book recognize him just as they recognize their sons. Those who have ruined their souls will not have faith.
