The 'Ad had also disavowed. How was then My punishment and My commination!
'Aad denied; and how were My punishment and warning.
TO THE TRUTH gave the lie Ad: and how severe was the suffering which I inflicted when My warnings were disregarded!
(The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings.
'Ad also gave the lie (to Hud). So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings!
So did the people of 'Ad - the 'Adites -; they refused to admit the truth of Our message and they renounced their Messenger. How painful was My punishment on those who counselled deaf to admonition and wasted their lives and refused to acknowledge their Messenger!
The tribe of Ad also denied their prophet. How true was my warning and how awful my punishment.
‘Âd (people) belied (their Prophet, Hûd); then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?
