God appointed not any baḥīrah or sā’ibah or waṣīlah or ḥām — but those who ignore warning invent lies about God; and most of them do not reason.

Allah did not institute any such thing as bahira or sa’iba or wasila or hami. Those who were kafir invented lies against Allah. Most of them do not use their intellect.
God did not institute any combination of livestock, nor livestock liberated for oaths, nor ones that give twin births, nor a stallion freed from work; but the people who rejected invented lies to God, and most of them do not understand.
Allah did not ordain that certain kinds of cattle and other livestock be marked out, assigned names, and set aside from human use or consumption. Disbelievers invented such superstitions and attributed them to Allah. Most of them do not use their intellect.

GOD did not prohibit livestock that begets certain combinations of males and females, nor livestock liberated by an oath, nor the one that begets two males in a row, nor the bull that fathers ten. It is the disbelievers who invented such lies about GOD. Most of them do not understand.
God has not sanctioned Baheerah or Sa'ibah, Waseelah or Ham. The unbelievers fabricate lies of God, for many of them are devoid of sense.

IT IS NOT of God's ordaining that certain kinds of cattle should be marked out by superstition and set aside from the use of man; yet those who are bent on denying the truth attribute their own lying inventions to God. And most of them never use their reason:
Allah hath not appointed anything in the nature of a Bahirah or a Sa'ibah or a Wasilah or a Hami, but those who disbelieve invent a lie against Allah. Most of them have no sense.
Allah has neither appointed (cattle devoted to idols such as) Bahirah, Sa'ibah, Wasilah nor Ham;*but those who disbelieve forge lies against Allah and of them most have no understanding (and therefore succumb to such superstitions).
Allah never authorized you to proclaim unlawful what He has rendered lawful. Never did Allah impose the dedication of certain animals under any form of superstitions. Thus, you profanely relieve from service, designate by a descriptive name and dedicate to idols:
God has never ordained your superstitious practices such as: splitting the ear of a camel whose fifth new born is a male, to let loose a camel as a fulfillment of a vow, not to use the first born twin camel or respect the he-camel as soon as his "grandson" grows up and fits for riding! These practices are falsely attributed to the Lord and most disbelievers follow it blind folded without thinking about them.
Allâh has not instituted things like Bahîrah, or Sâ’ibah, or Wasîlah, or Hâm, (all these animals were liberated in honour of idols as practised by pagan Arabs in the pre-Islâmic period). But those who disbelieve invent lies against Allâh, and most of them have no understanding.
It was not Allah who instituted (superstitions like those of) a slit-ear she-camel, or a she-camel let loose for free pasture, or idol sacrifices for twin-births in animals, or stallion-camels freed from work: It is blasphemers who invent a lie against Allah; but most of them lack wisdom.
Allah has never ordained the ˹so-called˺ baḥîrah, sâ'ibah, waṣîlah, and ḥâm camels. But the disbelievers just fabricate lies about Allah, and most of them lack understanding.
Allah has made no BaHīrah, no Sā’ibah, no WaSīlah and no Hāmī (names of animals dedicated to idols on different grounds). But those who disbelieve coin a lie against Allah, and most of them do not understand.

In no way has Allah appointed (anything) as a Bahîrah or a SaÉibah, or a Wasilah or a Ham; (3) but the ones who have disbelieved fabricate against Allah lies, and most of them do not consider.

It was not Allah, who began (false beliefs like those of) a slit-ear female camel, and a female camel let loose for free grazing, and idol sacrifices for twin-births in animals, and stallion-camels freed from work: It is the blasphemers who invent a lie against Allah: But most of them (simply) lack wisdom.
Allâh has not instituted (superstition like those of) any Bahîrah (-an animal having her ear slit and let loose for free pasture, dedicated to some god, their milk was not used, nor their back, nor their meat); or Sâ'ibah (-an animal having given birth to ten females, liberated to pasture where she would, not be ridden, nor milk drunk except by her young); or Wasîlah (-an animal which gave birth to seven females consecutively and at the seventh birth she bore a pair male and female. Each of the latter was let loose and the milk of the animal drunk by men only and not by women;) or Hâmi (-an animal that is left at liberty without being made use of in any way whatsover). But those who disbelieve have fabricated a lie (by such superstitious dedications) in the name of Allâh. Most of them cannot refrain (from such polytheistic superstitions).
Allah has not prescribed any such thing as Baḥīrah, Sā’ibah, Wa¥īlah, or Hām; but those who are faithless fabricate lies against Allah, and most of them do not apply reason.
