Their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation: “Is this save a mortal like you? Will you go to sorcery with open eyes?”

Their hearts are distracted. Those who do wrong confer together secretly, saying, ‘Is this man anything but a human being like yourselves? Do you succumb to magic with your eyes wide open?’
Their hearts are preoccupied, and those who are wicked confer privately: "Is he not a human being like you Would you accept this magic while you know"
With their hearts preoccupied with fleeting delights, the wrongdoers confer secretly, "Is he not just a human being like you? Will you yield to his spellbinding eloquence with your eyes open?"

Their minds are heedless. And the transgressors confer secretly: "Is he not just a human being like you? Would you accept the magic that is presented to you?"
Their minds are lost in frivolous pastimes; and the evil-doers discuss secretly: "Is he not but only a man like you? Then why are you taken in by magic seeingly?"
With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, , "Is this except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware ?"
their hearts set on passing delights; yet they who are bent on wrongdoing conceal their innermost thoughts , "Is this anything but a mortal like yourselves? Will you, then, yield to spellbinding eloquence with your eyes open?"
With hearts preoccupied. And they confer in secret. The wrong-doers say: Is this other than a mortal like you? Will ye then succumb to magic when ye see (it)?
their hearts being set on other concerns. The wrong-doers whisper to one another: "This person is no more than a mortal like yourselves. Will you, then, be enchanted by sorcery while you see?"*
Their hearts' ears are closed for revelation but open for mockery and amusement -the happiness of those who cannot think- Being wrongful of actions, they say in their secret counsel: "Is he Muhammad not human like yourselves, and so will you accede to the magic he is able to manifest in his discourse when you have insight of the mind and eyesight of the body"!
Their minds being close to truth, they say among themselves: "Do you believe in what this mortal (Mohammad) is saying? ….
With their hearts occupied (with evil things). Those who do wrong, conceal their private counsels, (saying): "Is this (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) more than a human being like you? Will you submit to magic while you see it?"
Their hearts toying as with trifles. The wrong-doers conceal their private counsels, (saying), "Is this (one) more than a man like yourselves? Will ye go to witchcraft with your eyes open?"
with their hearts ˹totally˺ distracted. The evildoers would converse secretly, ˹saying,˺ "Is this ˹one˺ not human like yourselves? Would you fall for ˹this˺ witchcraft, even though you can ˹clearly˺ see?"
their hearts paying no heed. And the wrongdoers whisper in secret, "This one is nothing but a mortal like you. Would you then go along with sorcery while you can see (the reality)?"
with frivolous hearts. The evildoers conferred in secret: ‘Is this man anything but a mortal like yourselves? Are you going to fall under his spell with your eyes wide open?’
diverted their hearts. The evildoers whisper one to another, 'Is this aught but a mortal like to yourselves? What, will you take to sorcery with your eyes open?'
and their hearts make sport thereof! And those who do wrong discourse secretly (saying), 'Is this man aught but a mortal like yourselves? will ye accede to magic, while ye can see?'
No new reminder comes to them from their Lord, but they listen to it as in (or while they play (or as a jest),
Diverted (are) their hearts. The ones who do injustice confer in secret among themselves, "Is this nothing except a mortal like yourselves? Will you then take to sorcery while you are beholding?" (i.e., with your eyes wide open).
Their hearts are taken up with delights. And they who act unjustly discourse privately together, saying, is this Mohammed any more than a man like yourselves? Will ye therefore come to hear a piece of sorcery, when ye plainly perceive it to be so?
Their hearts playing with petty things, the wrongdoers hide their private talk: "Is this (human, the Prophet) more than a man like yourselves? Will you go into magic while you can see?"
While their minds are inattentive. Those of them who have transgressed the limits, keep their counsels (against the Prophet of their time) secret (and say), `He is only a human being like yourselves. Will you be seduced by his skillful eloquence while you see and know?'
their hearts set on diversions. The wrongdoers secretly whisper together, , ‘Is not this just a human being like yourselves? Will you give in to magic with open eyes?’
