He said: “O Iblīs: what ails thee that thou art not with those who submit?”
He said, ‘Iblis, what is it that prevents you being among the prostrators?’
He said: "O Satan, what is the matter that you are not with those who have submitted"
God asked, "O Iblis! Why are you not with those who bowed?"
He said: “O Iblīs: what ails thee that thou art not with those who submit?”
He said: "O Satan, what is the matter that you are not of those who yielded?"
He said, "O Satan, what is the matter that you are not with the prostrators?"
He said, "O Iblis (Satan), why are you not with the prostrators?"
"How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?"
said, O Iblees, what is with you that you are not with those who prostrate?"
Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?"
He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate?
The Lord inquired: "Iblis! What is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?"
"What kept you, O Iblis", Allah Asked, "from joining those who cast themselves down in reverence and admiration!"
I asked: "Satan, what prevented you to join them in prostration?"
(Allâh) said: "O Iblîs (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?"
(Allah) said: "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?"
Allah asked, "O Iblîs! What is the matter with you that you did not join others in prostration?"
He (Allah) said, "O Iblīs, what is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?"
God said, ‘Iblis, why did you not bow down like the others?’
Said He, 'What ails thee, Iblis, that thou art not among those bowing?'
He said, 'O Iblis! what ails thee that thou art not among those who adore?'
He said, "O Iblis! What ails you that you are not among the prostrate?"
Said He, "O Iblîs, what about you, that you are not among the prostrate?"
And God said unto him, O Eblis, what hindered thee from being with those who worshipped Adam?
(Allah) said: "O Satan! What is the reason for not being from those who prostrated themselves?"
(Lord) said, `Iblîs! what is (the reason) with you that you would not be with those who submit?'
He said, ‘O Iblis! What kept you from being among those who have prostrated?’
