And We sent messengers before thee. And We appointed for them wives, and progeny; and it was for a messenger to bring a proof only by the leave of God. For every term is a writ.

We sent Messengers before you and gave them wives and children. Nor was any Messenger able to bring a Sign except by Allah’s permission. There is a prescribed limit to every term.
And We have sent messengers before you and We have made for them mates and offspring. It was not for a messenger to come with any sign except by God's leave, but for every time there is a decree.
And verily We sent Messengers before you, and We appointed for them wives and children as well. (They all were mortal human beings and they conveyed Allah's Revelation as commanded). It was not given to any Messenger that he could bring a Sign (the requital they hastened for), but it came according to Allah's Law of Respite.
