Surah Yunus (Jonas) — سورة يونس - **Verse:** 74 / 109 · **Juz:** 11 · **Mushaf page:** 216 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-yunus/verse-74 ## Arabic ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِه۪ رُسُلاً اِلٰى قَوْمِهِمْ فَجَٓاؤُ۫هُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَمَا كَانُوا لِيُؤْمِنُوا بِمَا كَذَّبُوا بِه۪ مِنْ قَبْلُۜ كَذٰلِكَ نَطْبَعُ عَلٰى قُلُوبِ الْمُعْتَد۪ينَ ## Transcription Thumma baAAathna min baAAdihi rusulanila qawmihim fajaoohum bilbayyinatifama kanoo liyu/minoo bima kaththaboobihi min qablu kathalika natbaAAu AAalaquloobi almuAAtadeen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Then after him We sent Messengers to their people, and they brought them the Clear Signs, but they were never going to have iman in something which they had previously denied. That is how We seal up the hearts of those who overstep the limits. ### Progressive Muslims Then, after him, We sent messengers to their own people, so they came to them with proofs. But they did not want to believe in what they had already denied beforehand. It is such that We stamp on the hearts of the transgressors. ### Shabbir Ahmed Then after him We sent many Messengers to their respective nations and they brought them clear evidence of the Truth. They preemptively refused to accept the Message. And they were not the kind of people who would rethink their decisions. But they were not to believe in that which they had denied before. They brought to them clear signs, but they were not such as to believe in what they had rejected earlier as false. Thus do We seal the hearts of those who transgress.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] The transgressors whose hearts are sealed are those obstinate and obdurate people who are so hardened against persuasion that they firmly and perversely adhere to the opinion they have once formed erroneously. As they themselves refuse to listen to counsel and admonition, Allah’s curse falls on them and they are deprived of the ability of ever coming to the right way. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab In succession, We sent Messengers, each carrying a divine message to his people. They presented them with enough signs to guide them out of want of spiritual and intellectual sight into illumination and enlightenment. But they would not give credence to what they had rejected aforetime. They presented undeniable miracles to them, but how can one believe in what he has decided to deny? Fakat önceden (hakkı) yalan say (mıya alış) dıkları için, (kaabil değil) inanmadılar. İşte haddi aşanların gönülleri üzerine biz böyle mühür basarız! ### İbni Kesir Sonra onun arkasından peygamberleri kavimlerine gönderdik. Onlara apaçık ayetylerle geldiler. Fakat önceden yalanladıkları için inanmadılar. Aşırı gidenlerin kalblerini işte böylece mühürleriz. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı Ve sonra, o'nun ardından -her birini kendi toplumlarına olmak üzere- (başka) elçiler gönderdik; öyle ki onlar da hakkın apaçık delillerini ortaya koydular; fakat onlar bir kere yalanlamış bulundukları şeye (sonradan) bir türlü inanmak istemediler, haddi aşanların kalplerini biz işte böyle mühürleriz. ### Şaban Piriş — Kur'an-ı Kerim Türkçe Anlamı O'ndan sonra da toplumlarına elçiler göndermiştik. (Fakat onlar) önce yalanlamış oldukları şeye bir türlü inanmıyorlardı. İşte haddi aşanların kalblerini böyle mühürleriz. ### Yaşar Nuri Öztürk — Kur'an-ı Kerim Meali Nuh'un ardından birçok resulleri daha toplumlarına gönderdik. Onlara açık seçik kanıtlar getirdiler. Ama onlar daha önceden yalanladıkları şeye bir türlü inanmadılar. Azgınlığa sapanların kalplerini biz, işte böyle mühürleriz. ### Mustafa İslamoğlu — Hayat Kitabı Kur’an Sonra onun izinden, her birini kendi toplumlarına olmak üzere (daha başka) elçiler de gönderdik. Bunlar onlara o açık belgeleri (mucizeleri)getirdiler. Ama başlangıçta elçiye karşı yalana sarılmaları sebebiyle daha sonra inanmaya yanaşmamışlardı. Aşırılık yapanların kalpleri üzerinde işte böyle bir yapı oluştururuz. ### Mehmet Okuyan — Kur’an Meal-Tefsir Sonra onun arkasından elçileri kendi toplumlarına göndermiştik. Onlara deliller getirmişlerdi. Fakat onlar daha önce yalanladıkları şeye inanacak değillerdi.
