Surah Yunus (Jonas) — سورة يونس - **Verse:** 28 / 109 · **Juz:** 11 · **Mushaf page:** 211 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-yunus/verse-28 ## Arabic وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُهُمْ جَم۪يعاً ثُمَّ نَقُولُ لِلَّذ۪ينَ اَشْرَكُوا مَكَانَكُمْ اَنْتُمْ وَشُرَكَٓاؤُ۬كُمْۚ فَزَيَّلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ وَقَالَ شُرَكَٓاؤُ۬هُمْ مَا كُنْتُمْ اِيَّانَا تَعْبُدُونَ ## Transcription Wayawma nahshuruhum jameeAAan thummanaqoolu lillatheena ashrakoo makanakum antumwashurakaokum fazayyalna baynahum waqalashurakaohum ma kuntum iyyanataAAbudoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley On the Day We gather them all together, We will say then to those who associated others with Allah, ‘To your place, you and your partner-gods!’ Then We will sift them out, and their partner-gods will say, ‘It was not us you worshipped. ### Progressive Muslims And on the Day We gather them all, We will say to those who have set up partners: "Stop where you are, you and your partners," then We separate between them, and their partners will Say: "It was not us that you served. " ### Shabbir Ahmed One Day We will gather all of them together. We will say to those who acknowledged false deities, "Stay back, you and your pretended partners of Allah!" We will have the leaders and their followers confront each other. And the beings to whom they had ascribed a share in God's divinity will say [to those who had worshipped them], "It was not us that you were wont to worship; ### Marmaduke Pickthall On the day when We gather them all together, then We say unto those who ascribed partners (unto Us): Stand back, ye and your (pretended) partners (of Allah)! And We separate them, the one from the other, and their (pretended) partners say: It was not us ye worshipped. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary And the Day when We shall muster them all together, We shall say to those who associated others with Allah in His divinity: 'Keep to your places - you and those whom you associated with Allah.' Then We shall remove the veil of foreignness separating them.[1] Those whom they had associated with Allah will say. 'It was not us that you worshipped. _Footnotes_ - [1] Some commentators are of the opinion that the original words of the text mean this: We will cut off every kind of connection and relation between them so that they are not able to show any concern for one another. But these meanings are opposed to the Arabic usage, according to which they mean: We will distinguish them from one another, or We will cause a distinction among them. That is why these have been translated like this: Then We will separate, one from the other. That is, the mushriks and their deities shall stand in front of each other and recognize their mutual and respective positions. The mushriks shall come to know the whole truth about those whom they worshiped and their deities will learn everything about their worshipers. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab The Day We throng them all together, We will address them, thus: Stop, where you are, together with your predominant partners whom you incorporated with Allah; you shall hear His verdict and We keep them apart. There and then shall say those who were worshipped to their worshippers: "You did not really worship us, but you worshipped your lust and your inordinate self-esteem and determination." ### Bijan Moeinian On the Day that they are all raised, I will ask them: "Where are those whom you referred to as My partners?" Ortakları derler ki: Bize tapmıyordunuz. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı Çünkü, bir gün onların hepsini bir araya toplayacağız ve (hayattayken) Allah'tan başkalarına ilahlık yakıştıranlara: "Siz ve Allah'a ortak koştuğunuz o şeyler, (o varlıklar ve güçler, hepiniz) olduğunuz yerde kalın!" diyecek ve böylece onları birbirinden ayıracağız.
