Surah Yunus (Jonas) — سورة يونس - **Verse:** 108 / 109 · **Juz:** 11 · **Mushaf page:** 220 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-yunus/verse-108 ## Arabic قُلْ يَٓا اَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَٓاءَكُمُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْۚ فَمَنِ اهْتَدٰى فَاِنَّمَا يَهْتَد۪ي لِنَفْسِه۪ۚ وَمَنْ ضَلَّ فَاِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيْهَاۚ وَمَٓا اَنَا۬ عَلَيْكُمْ بِوَك۪يلٍۜ ## Transcription Qul ya ayyuha annasuqad jaakumu alhaqqu min rabbikum famani ihtadafa-innama yahtadee linafsihi waman dalla fa-innamayadillu AAalayha wama ana AAalaykumbiwakeel ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Say: ‘Mankind! the truth has come to you from your Lord. Whoever is guided is only guided for his own good. Whoever is misguided is only misguided to his detriment. I have not been set over you as a guardian.’ ### Progressive Muslims Say: "O people, the truth has come to you from your Lord, so whosoever is guided is being guided for himself, and whosoever is misguided will remain so, and I am not a caretaker over you. " ### Shabbir Ahmed Say, "O Mankind! Now has come to you the Truth from your Lord. So whoever chooses to follow the right path, follows it for his own "Self". Whosoever, then, follows the true guidance does so for his own good; and whosoever strays, his straying will be to his own hurt. I am no custodian over you. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Say to them Muhammad: "O you people, now has the truth come to you from Allah, your Creator, and he who chooses to follow the path of righteousness shall only profit his own soul, and he who chooses to stray and loses himself in the maze of error shall only harm his own soul, and I am not here to watch over your innocence and folly. Now truth (i.e. the Qur’ân and Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) has come to you from your Lord. So whosoever receives guidance, he does so for the good of his own self; and whosoever goes astray, he does so to his own loss; and I am not (set) over you as a Wakîl (disposer of affairs to oblige you for guidance)." ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali Say: "O ye men! Now Truth hath reached you from your Lord! those who receive guidance, do so for the good of their own souls; those who stray, do so to their own loss: and I am not (set) over you to arrange your affairs." ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ "O humanity! The truth has surely come to you from your Lord. So whoever chooses to be guided, it is only for their own good. And whoever chooses to stray, it is only to their own loss.
