Surah Taha (Ta-Ha) — سورة طه - **Verse:** 77 / 135 · **Juz:** 16 · **Mushaf page:** 316 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-taha/verse-77 ## Arabic وَلَقَدْ اَوْحَيْنَٓا اِلٰى مُوسٰٓى اَنْ اَسْرِ بِعِبَاد۪ي فَاضْرِبْ لَهُمْ طَر۪يقاً فِي الْبَحْرِ يَبَساًۚ لَا تَخَافُ دَرَكاً وَلَا تَخْشٰى ## Transcription Walaqad awhayna ilamoosa an asri biAAibadee fadriblahum tareeqan fee albahri yabasan la takhafudarakan wala takhsha ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley We revealed to Musa, ‘Travel with My slaves by night. Strike a dry path for them through the sea. Have no fear of being overtaken and do not be afraid.’ ### Progressive Muslims And We inspired to Moses: "Take My servants out, and make for them through the sea a path. You shall not fear being overtaken, nor be afraid." ### Shabbir Ahmed Finally, a time came when We commanded Moses, "Take away My servants by night and find for them a dry path through the Sea of Reeds. " ### Marmaduke Pickthall And verily We inspired Moses, saying: Take away My slaves by night and strike for them a dry path in the sea, fearing not to be overtaken, neither being afraid (of the sea). ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Most certainly We[1] revealed to Moses: "Proceed with My servants in the night and strike for them a dry path in the sea.[2] Have no fear of being overtaken, nor be afraid of treading through the sea." _Footnotes_ - [1] Here the details of the events which happened during the long period of Prophet Moses’(peace be upon him) stay in Egypt have been omitted. For these please see(Surah Al- Aaraf, Ayat 130-147), (Surah Younus, Ayats 83-92); (Surah Al-Momin, Ayats 23-50) and (Surah Az-Zukhuruf 46-56). - [2] This happened when God at last appointed a night for the exodus of the Israelites and the other Muslims from Egypt. They were asked to gather at a fixed place and set forth as a caravan. Just at the time when they reached the coast of the Red Sea from where they had to cross to the Sinai Peninsula, Pharaoh arrived there with a large army in their pursuit. We learn from (Surah Ash-Shuara, Ayats 61-63) that when they were literally between the army and the deep sea, Allah commanded Moses (peace be upon him) to smite the sea with his staff and according to this verse the sea split and stood like two high walls on both sides, leaving a dry path between them for the caravan to pass. Thus, it is quite clear and plain that it was a miracle, and not the result of a wind storm or tide, for when the water rises in this way it does not remain standing like two high walls, leaving a dry path between them. İsra kökünden fiillerin geçtiği ayetleren çoğunda "gece (ليل)" kelimesi de olduğu için bu kelimeye "gece yürüyüşü" anlamı vermek yanlıştır. Bu ayette ve [Şuara 26/52](https://quran.so/26/52). ayette "gece (ليل)" ifadesi açıkça geçmese de ilgili ayetlerden dolayı bu ayeterde de o kelime takdir edilir. Kelime, "her şeyin en yükseği" anlamına gelen "serah (سَرَاة)"dan türemiştir (Müfredat, (سرى) mad) Çünkü ayetlerdeki isra kökünden fiillerin tamamı, "en yükseğe çıkarma" anlamındadır. Musa aleyhisselamın, İsrailoğullarını çıkardığı dağ, Kızıldeniz'in kenarı ile Kahire arasında olan ve yüksekliği yer yer 2000 metreyi geçen sıra dağlar olmalıdır (SUNA DOĞANER, Mısır, DİA).
