Surah Taha (Ta-Ha) — سورة طه - **Verse:** 52 / 135 · **Juz:** 16 · **Mushaf page:** 314 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-taha/verse-52 ## Arabic قَالَ عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ رَبّ۪ي ف۪ي كِتَابٍۚ لَا يَضِلُّ رَبّ۪ي وَلَا يَنْسٰىۘ ## Transcription Qala AAilmuha AAinda rabbeefee kitabin la yadillu rabbee walayansa ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley He said, ‘Knowledge of them is with my Lord in a Book. My Lord does not misplace nor does He forget.’ ### Progressive Muslims He said: "It's knowledge is with my Lord, in a record. My Lord does not err or forget." ### Shabbir Ahmed (Pharaoh expected Moses to say that they would be in Hellfire, and that would infuriate the courtiers. ) Moses responded, "The knowledge of that is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." ### Muhammad Asad [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget. " ### Marmaduke Pickthall He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither erreth nor forgetteth, ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Moses said: "Its knowledge is with my Lord, recorded in the Book. My Lord does not err, nor does He forget."[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] This answer is full of wisdom. If Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) had said: Yes, they all lacked common sense and had gone astray and would become the fuel of Hell, this answer, though true, would have served the very purpose Pharaoh had in mind in putting the question. But the answer given by the Prophet was true and it frustrated the trick of Pharaoh as well. His answer was to this effect: Well, those people have now gone before their Lord, and I have no means of judging their deeds and intentions. However, their whole record is safe and secure with Allah, and nothing can escape Him. Allah alone knows how to deal with them. What concerns you and me is our own position and attitude to life. We should be more concerned about our own end than of those who have already passed away into Allah’s presence. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab "Only Allah knows what happened to them", they said " knowledge of the hidden is an attribute of Him, Our Creator, Who puts everything on record. and never goes wrong nor does He forget". ### Bijan Moeinian Moses said: "It is the Lord’s business.
