Surah Sad (The letter Saad) — سورة ص - **Verse:** 43 / 88 · **Juz:** 23 · **Mushaf page:** 455 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-sad/verse-43 ## Arabic وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُٓ اَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُمْ مَعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِنَّا وَذِكْرٰى لِاُو۬لِي الْاَلْبَابِ ## Transcription Wawahabna lahu ahlahu wamithlahummaAAahum rahmatan minna wathikrali-olee al-albab ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley We gave him back his family and the same again with them as a mercy from Us and a reminder for people of intellect. ### Progressive Muslims And We restored his family to him along with a group like them, as a mercy from Us; and a reminder for those who possess intelligence. ### Shabbir Ahmed And We gave him back his family and followers and, in time, doubled their numbers as a Grace from Us. Such is our mercy; a reminder for those who possess intelligence. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira We restored his family to him with others similar to them, as a blessing from Us and a reminder for men of wisdom. -- ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And We granted him his family and a like [number] with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding. ### Muhammad Asad And We bestowed upon him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who are endowed with insight. ### Marmaduke Pickthall And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary And We granted to him his family and also the like of them,[1] as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding,[2] _Footnotes_ - [1] Traditions show that during this illness everyone except his wife had deserted the Prophet Job (peace be upon him); even his children had turned away. To this Allah has alluded, saying: When We granted him health, the whole family returned to him, and then We granted him even more children. - [2] That is, in it there is a lesson for an intelligent man. Neither should man forget God and become arrogant in good times nor despair of Him in bad times. Good fortune and misfortune are entirely in the Power of Allah, the One. If He wills He can change the best times of man into the worst times and the worst into the best. Therefore, a wise person should trust in Him alone in all sorts of circumstances and should pin all his hopes on Him. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab We restored to him his health and vigour causing his family and his people to gather around him again after they had forsaken him and We doubled their original number in mercy from Us and a reminder of Allah's Omnipotence and Mercy to those who endure Allah's test and be able to reflect. ### Bijan Moeinian Then I restored to him his family and twice as much as he had lost [for his test in this world. ] Such is God’s mercy; a reminder for those who [use their brain to] think. ### Al-Hilali & Khan And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran And We gave him back his family, twice as many, as a mercy from Us and a lesson for people of reason. ### Taqi Usmani And We let him have his family and the like of them besides, as a mercy from Us, and a reminder for the people of understanding. ### Abdul Haleem and We restored his family to him, with many more like them: a sign of Our mercy and a lesson to all who understand. ### Arthur John Arberry And We gave to him his family, and the like of them with them, as a mercy from us, and a reminder unto men possessed of minds; ### E.
