Surah Saba (Sheba) — سورة سَبَأ - **Verse:** 44 / 54 · **Juz:** 22 · **Mushaf page:** 432 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-saba/verse-44 ## Arabic وَمَٓا اٰتَيْنَاهُمْ مِنْ كُتُبٍ يَدْرُسُونَهَا وَمَٓا اَرْسَلْنَٓا اِلَيْهِمْ قَبْلَكَ مِنْ نَذ۪يرٍۜ ## Transcription Wama ataynahum minkutubin yadrusoonaha wama arsalna ilayhimqablaka min natheer ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley We have not given them any books which they are studying nor did We send, before you, any warner to them. ### Progressive Muslims We had not given to them any Scriptures to study, nor did We send to them before you any warner. ### Shabbir Ahmed But We never gave them any Scriptures that they study, nor did We send unto them before you any Warner. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation And We gave them not any Writs to study, and We sent not to them before thee any warner. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation We had not given to them any books to study, nor did We send to them before you any warner. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament We did not give them any other books to study, nor did we send to them before you another warner. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira We did not give them any scripture to study, nor sent any warner before you. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And We had not given them any scriptures which they could study, and We had not sent to them before you, [O Muúammad], any warner. ### Muhammad Asad And yet, [O Muhammad,] never have We vouchsafed them any revelations which they could quote, and neither have We sent unto them any warner before thee. ### Marmaduke Pickthall And We have given them no scriptures which they study, nor sent We unto them, before thee, any warner. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary whereas We gave them no Books that they could study nor sent to them any warner before you.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, neither a book from God has come to them before this nor a messenger, who might have taught them to worship and serve others than God. Therefore, they are denying the invitation to Tauhid given by the Quran and Muhammad (peace be upon him) due to sheer ignorance, and not on the basis of any knowledge. They have in fact no authority for this. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab But We never sent or revealed to these people* divine Books to apply their minds to acquire learning and by consequence be able to evaluate the Quran. Nor did We send to them before you O Muhammad as Messenger a spectacle and a warning. ### Bijan Moeinian They had never received any book nor a Prophet [to teach them the truth] before [therefore, they should be grateful not stubborn. ] ### Al-Hilali & Khan And We had not given them Scriptures which they could study, nor sent to them before you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) any warner (Messenger). ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali But We had not given them Books which they could study, nor sent messengers to them before thee as Warners. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran ˹They say so even though˺ We had never given them any scriptures to study, nor did We ever send them a warner before you ˹O Prophet˺. ### Taqi Usmani We did not give them any books that they might study, nor did We send to them any warner before you. ### Abdul Haleem though We have not given them any books to study nor sent any warner before you. ### Arthur John Arberry We have not given them any Books to study, nor have We sent them before thee any warner. ### E.
