Surah Qaf (The letter Qaaf) — سورة ق - **Verse:** 44 / 45 · **Juz:** 26 · **Mushaf page:** 519 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-qaf/verse-44 ## Arabic يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ الْاَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعاًۜ ذٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَس۪يرٌ ## Transcription Yawma tashaqqaqu al-ardu AAanhum siraAAanthalika hashrun AAalayna yaseer ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley The Day the earth splits open all around them as they come rushing forth, that is a gathering, easy for Us to accomplish. ### Progressive Muslims The Day when the Earth will rapidly crumble away from them; that will be a gathering which is easy for Us. ### Shabbir Ahmed On that day, the earth will split asunder before them (they shall fail to advance). That is a gathering easy for Us (to make). ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary on the Day when the earth will be rent asunder and people, rising from it, will hasten forth. To assemble them all will be easy for Us.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] This is the answer to the saying of the disbelievers that has been reproduced in verse 3 above. They said: How can it be that when we are dead and become dust, we shall be raised back to life once again. This resurrection is far removed from reason. In reply it has been said: This gathering together, i.e. raising back to life and gathering all the people of the former and latter times together, is very easy for Us. It is not at all difficult for Us to know as to where the dust of one particular person lies and where of the other. We shall also face no difficulty in knowing as to which are the particles of one and which of the other among the scattered particles of the dust. Gathering together all these particles separately and remaking each and every man’s body once again and then creating in that body the same very personality which had lived in it before, is not a task that may require any hard labor from Us, but all this can be accomplished immediately at one signal from Us. All those human beings who have been born in the world since the time of Adam till Resurrection can be brought together by one command of Ours. If your petty mind thinks it is far off, it may think so, but it is not beyond the power of the Creator of the Universe. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab This is the Day the earth over the dead shall crack and everyone will be embodied by his soul, and they will then emerge from the graves rushing to their Fate and nothing is easier than to throng the resurrected to Judgment. ### Bijan Moeinian On that Day the earth will crack down and the people will rush out of it in hast.
