Surah Qaf (The letter Qaaf) — سورة ق - **Verse:** 28 / 45 · **Juz:** 26 · **Mushaf page:** 518 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-qaf/verse-28 ## Arabic قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا لَدَيَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ اِلَيْكُمْ بِالْوَع۪يدِ ## Transcription Qala la takhtasimooladayya waqad qaddamtu ilaykum bilwaAAeed ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley He will say, ‘Do not argue in My presence when I gave you advance warning of the Threat. ### Progressive Muslims He said: "Do not argue with each other before Me, I have already presented you with My promise. " ### Shabbir Ahmed Thus will respond He, "Contend not in My Presence, for I had sent forth to you warning in advance. I had warned you.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, I had warned both of you as to what punishment will be given to the one who beguiles and what punishment will be suffered by him who is beguiled. In spite of this warning when you did not desist from committing your respective crimes, there is no use quarreling now.
