Surah Muhammad (Muhammad) — سورة محمد - **Verse:** 17 / 38 · **Juz:** 26 · **Mushaf page:** 507 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-muhammad/verse-17 ## Arabic وَالَّذ۪ينَ اهْتَدَوْا زَادَهُمْ هُدًى وَاٰتٰيهُمْ تَقْوٰيهُمْ ## Transcription Wallatheena ihtadaw zadahumhudan waatahum taqwahum ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley He increases in guidance those who are already guided and gives them their taqwa. ### Progressive Muslims And those who are guided, He increases their guidance, and grants them their righteousness. ### Shabbir Ahmed While as for those who wish to walk in the Light, He shows them the way all along, and secures for them their journey through life. ('Huda' = Brightness, light, guidance, beacon, showing the way, lead the lost). ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation And those who are guided, He increases them in guidance and gives them their prudent fear. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation And those who are guided, He increases their guidance, and grants them their righteousness. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament As for those who are guided, He augments their guidance, and grants them their righteousness. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira But those who are rightly guided will be given greater guidance by Him, and they will have their intrinsic piety. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And those who are guided - He increases them in guidance and gives them their righteousness. ### Muhammad Asad just as for those who are [willing to be] guided, He increases their [ability to follow His] guidance and causes them to grow in God-consciousness. ### Marmaduke Pickthall While as for those who walk aright, He addeth to their guidance, and giveth them their protection (against evil). ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary As for those who were led to the Guidance,[1] Allah increases them in their guidance and causes them to grow in God-fearing.[2] _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, the same revelations about which the disbelievers and hypocrites ask: What was the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying just now? become a cause of further guidance for the rightly guided people, and from the same assembly from which these unfortunate people rise without gaining anything, the fortunate ones return with a new treasure of knowledge and insight. - [2] That is, Allah grants them the grace to develop in themselves the kind of piety taqwa that they have the capability to develop. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab But those whose minds' eyes have led them to the path of safety and righteousness, Allah has justified faith as a conviction operative on their character and will and imprinted their deeds with wisdom and piety. ### Bijan Moeinian As for those who [listen to your sermons and] get guidance, God guides them further and leads them to the righteousness. ### Al-Hilali & Khan While as for those who accept guidance, He increases their guidance and bestows on them their piety. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali But to those who receive Guidance, He increases the (light of) Guidance, and bestows on them their Piety and Restraint (from evil). ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran As for those who are ˹rightly˺ guided, He increases them in guidance and blesses them with righteousness. ### Taqi Usmani As for those who have adopted right path, Allah improves them in guidance, and gives them their piety. ### Abdul Haleem God has increased the guidance of those who follow the right path, and given them their awareness [of Him]. ### Arthur John Arberry But those who are guided aright, them He increases in guidance, and gives them their godfearing. ### E.
