Surah Muhammad (Muhammad) — سورة محمد - **Verse:** 10 / 38 · **Juz:** 26 · **Mushaf page:** 506 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-muhammad/verse-10 ## Arabic اَفَلَمْ يَس۪يرُوا فِي الْاَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذ۪ينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْۜ دَمَّرَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمْۘ وَلِلْكَافِر۪ينَ اَمْثَالُهَا ## Transcription Afalam yaseeroo fee al-ardi fayanthurookayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihimdammara Allahu AAalayhim walilkafireena amthaluha ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Have they not travelled about the earth and seen the final fate of those before them? Allah destroyed them utterly. And those who are kafir will suffer the same fate. ### Progressive Muslims Did they not roam the land and note how was the end for those before them God destroyed them and the rejecters in a similar fate. ### Shabbir Ahmed Have they not, then, traveled in the land and seen what eventually happened to those who lived before them? Allah wiped them out, and for the deniers of Truth shall be the like thereof. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation Have they not travelled in the earth and seen how was the final outcome of those who were before them? God destroyed them; and for the false claimers of guidance are the likes thereof, ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation Did they not roam the earth and note how was the end for those before them? God destroyed them; and for the rejecters in a similar fate. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament Did they not roam the earth and see the consequences for those before them? GOD destroyed their works; all disbelievers will suffer the same fate. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira Have they not journeyed in the land and seen the fate of those before them? Destroyed they were utterly by God; and a similar (fate) awaits the unbelievers. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) Have they not traveled through the land and seen how was the end of those before them? Allah destroyed [everything] over them, and for the disbelievers is something comparable. ### Muhammad Asad Have they, then, never journeyed about the earth and beheld what happened in the end to those [willful sinners] who lived before their time? God destroyed them utterly: and the like thereof awaits all who deny the truth. ### Marmaduke Pickthall Have they not travelled in the land to see the nature of the consequence for those who were before them? Allah wiped them out. And for the disbelievers there will be the like thereof. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Have they not journeyed through the land to see the end of those who went before them? Allah utterly destroyed them. God destroyed their works; their destiny is a good example for what is waiting for the disbelievers. ### Al-Hilali & Khan Have they not travelled through the earth, and seen what was the end of those before them? Allâh destroyed them completely, and a similar (fate awaits) the disbelievers. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the End of those before them (who did evil)? Allah brought utter destruction on them, and similar (fates await) those who reject Allah. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran Have they not travelled throughout the land to see what was the end of those before them? Allah annihilated them, and a similar fate awaits the disbelievers. ### Taqi Usmani Have they not travelled in the land so that they might see how was the end of those before them? Allah brought utter destruction to them. And (ready) for (these) disbelievers are the likes thereof. ### Abdul Haleem Have they not travelled the earth and seen how those before them met their end? God destroyed them utterly: a similar fate awaits the disbelievers. ### Arthur John Arberry What, have they not journeyed in the land and beheld how was the end of those before them? Allah destroyed (their houses) above them, and the disbelievers will have the likes thereof. ### George Sale Do they not travel through the earth, and see what hath been the end of those who were before them? God utterly destroyed them: And the like catastrophe awaiteth the unbelievers. ### Syed Vickar Ahamed Have they not traveled through the earth, and see what happened in the end of those before them (who did evil)? Allah brought total destruction on them, and similar (fate awaits) the disbelievers. ### Amatul Rahman Omar Have they not travelled in the land and seen how (miserable) was the end to which their predecessors (who had disbelieved in the former Prophets) had come? Allâh utterly destroyed them. The same fate awaits these disbelievers. ### Ali Quli Qarai Have they not travelled over the land so that they may observe how was the fate of those who were before them? Allah destroyed them, and a similar [fate] awaits the faithless. ### Ahmed Hulusi — Türkçe Kur'an Çözümü Arzda seyretmediler (gezip dolaşmadılar) mi ki, kendilerinden öncekilerin sonu nasıl oldu! Nazar edip (akıl gözü ile ders alarak) görsünler! Allah onları dumura uğratmış! Bu hakikat bilgisini inkar edenlere de onların benzerleri söz konusudur! ### Ali Bulaç — Kur'an-ı Kerim ve Türkçe Anlamı Onlar, yeryüzünde gezip dolaşmıyorlar mı ki, kendilerinden öncekilerin nasıl bir sona uğradıklarını görsünler. Baksalar ya, kendilerinden öncekilerin sonları ne olmuş? Allah yerle bir eylemiş onları, zaten o kafirlere de öylesi yaraşır. ### Gültekin Onan Onlar, yeryüzünde gezip dolaşmıyorlar mı ki kendilerinden öncekilerin nasıl bir sona uğradıklarını görsünler. Tanrı, onları yerle bir etti. O kafirler için de bunun bir benzeri vardır. ### Hasan Basri Çantay — Kur'an-ı Hakim ve Meal-i Kerim Onlar kendilerinden evvelkilerin sonuçlarının nice olduğuna bakmaları için yer (yüzün) de gezib dolaşmadılar mı? Allah onların kökünü kırmışdır. O kafirlerin hakkı da bunun benzerleridir. ### İbni Kesir Yeryüzünde dolaşmazlar mı, kendilerinden öncekilerin akibetlerinin nasıl olduğuna baksınlar. Allah onları yere batırmıştır. Ve kafirlere de bunun benzeri vardır. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı Onlar hiç yeryüzünde dolaşıp kendilerinden önce yaşamış olan (bilinçli günahkar)ların sonlarının ne olduğunu görmediler mi? Allah onları kökten yok etti. Hakikati inkar edenlerin tümünü buna benzer (bir akibet) beklemektedir. ### Şaban Piriş — Kur'an-ı Kerim Türkçe Anlamı Yeryüzünde hiç dolaşmıyorlar mı? Kendilerinden öncekilerin akibetine bir baksınlar. Allah onları yerle bir etti. O kafirler için de bunun bir benzeri vardır. ### Süleyman Ateş — Kur'an-ı Kerim ve Yüce Meali (Onlar) Yeryüzünde gezip dolaşmadılar mı ki kendilerinden öncekilerin sonunun nasıl olduğunu görsünler? Allah onları(n evlerini, barklarını) yıkıp başlarına geçirmiştir. Bu kafirlere de, onun benzeri sonuçlar vardır. ### Yaşar Nuri Öztürk — Kur'an-ı Kerim Meali Onlar yeryüzünde dolaşıp da kendilerinden öncekilerin sonlarının nasıl olduğuna bir bakmıyorlar mı? Allah onları yerle bir etmiştir.
