Surah Luqman (Luqman) — سورة لقمان - **Verse:** 11 / 34 · **Juz:** 21 · **Mushaf page:** 410 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-luqman/verse-11 ## Arabic هٰذَا خَلْقُ اللّٰهِ فَاَرُون۪ي مَاذَا خَلَقَ الَّذ۪ينَ مِنْ دُونِه۪ۜ بَلِ الظَّالِمُونَ ف۪ي ضَلَالٍ مُب۪ينٍ۟ ## Transcription Hatha khalqu Allahi faarooneematha khalaqa allatheena min doonihi bali aththalimoonafee dalalin mubeen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley This is Allah’s creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are clearly misguided. ### Progressive Muslims This is God's creation, so show me what those besides Him have created Indeed, the transgressors are far astray. ### Shabbir Ahmed All this is Allah's creation. Now show Me what others instead of Him may have created. Nay, but those who relegate the Truth are obviously lost in error. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation “This is the creation of God; then show me what those besides Him have created.” The truth is, the wrongdoers are in manifest error. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation This is the creation of God, so show me what those besides Him have created? Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error. ### Muhammad Asad [All] this is God’s creation: show Me, then, what others than He may have created! Nay, but the evildoers are obviously lost in error! ### Marmaduke Pickthall This is the Creation of Allah. Now show me that which those (ye worship) beside Him have created. Nay, but the wrong-doers are in error manifest! ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Such is Allah's creation. Show me, then, what any others, apart from Allah, have created.[1] Nay, the fact is that the wrong-doers are in manifest error.[2] _Footnotes_ - [1] "Those other than" “the beings whom you have set up as your deities, whom you regard as makers and un-makers of your destinies, whom you have been worshiping as such persistently.” - [2] That is, "When they do not point out in this universe any creation of anyone else than Allah, and obviously they cannot, their setting up the non creators as associates in Godhead and bowing before them in worship and invoking them for help, is nothing but mere stupidity, because their foolish conduct cannot be explained in any other way. Unless a person has taken leave of his senses, he cannot commit the folly that he should himself admit before you that his deities are non-creators and that Allah alone is the Creator, and yet insist on their being the deities. If somebody has a little of the common sense, he will inevitably think how the one who has no power to create anything, and who has no share whatever in the creation of anything in the earth and heavens, can be our deity. Why should man bow before it and adore it as a deity? Does it possess any power that it could fulfill one’s needs and requirements? Even if it hears one’s prayers, what could it do to answer them when it did not have any power to create anything? For, evidently, afflictions can be removed only by him who can create something and not by him who can create nothing." ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab This is what Allah has brought into being and caused to exist. And now show me -you infidels- what have those you revered besides Him created, and brought into being! The fact is that the wrongful of actions are lost in the maze of error. ### Bijan Moeinian Such is the creation of God; now show Me what those whom you worship beside God have created. The fact of the matter is that these wicked people have chosen an obvious false ideology. ### Al-Hilali & Khan This is the creation of Allâh. So show Me that which those (whom you worship) besides Him have created. Nay, the Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrongdoers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allâh) are in plain error. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali Such is the Creation of Allah: now show Me what is there that others besides Him have created: nay, but the Transgressors are in manifest error. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran This is Allah’s creation. Now show Me what those ˹gods˺ other than Him have created. In fact, the wrongdoers are clearly astray. ### Taqi Usmani This is the creation of Allah. Aziz He created the heavens without supports that you can see, and He placed upon the earth firm mountains lest it should shake with you; and He dispersed therein all kinds of beasts; and We send down from the heavens water, and We caused plants of every noble kind to grow therein. ### Mahmoud Ghali This is the creation of Allah. So show me what (others) have created that are apart from Him! No indeed, (but) the unjust are in evident error. ### George Sale This is the creation of God: Shew Me now what they have created, who are worshipped besides Him?
