Surah Ibrahim (Abraham) — سورة ابراهيم - **Verse:** 46 / 52 · **Juz:** 13 · **Mushaf page:** 260 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-ibrahim/verse-46 ## Arabic وَقَدْ مَكَرُوا مَكْرَهُمْ وَعِنْدَ اللّٰهِ مَكْرُهُمْۜ وَاِنْ كَانَ مَكْرُهُمْ لِتَزُولَ مِنْهُ الْجِبَالُ ## Transcription Waqad makaroo makrahum waAAinda Allahimakruhum wa-in kana makruhum litazoola minhu aljibal ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley They concocted their plots, but their plots were with Allah, even if they were such as to make the mountains vanish. ### Progressive Muslims And they schemed their scheming, and their scheming is known to God; and their scheming was enough to make the mountains cease to exist. ### Shabbir Ahmed Their schemes, all recorded with Allah, were strong enough to intimidate the strongest of resolves. [And never can the blasphemers prevail against the truth - not] even if their false imagery were so (well devised and so powerful] that mountains could be moved thereby. ### Marmaduke Pickthall Verily they have plotted their plot, and their plot is with Allah, though their plot were one whereby the mountains should be moved. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Indeed the unbelievers contrived their plan, but it is in Allah's power to nullify their plan, even though their plans were such that would move even mountains.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, you have seen that the former people who violated the divine law, and who opposed the message, devised very effective and cunning schemes to avert the consequences of their iniquity, but Allah defeated them with His single counter device. You did not give up your crafty schemes against the message of truth in the vain hope that your strong measures would succeed where the schemes of your predecessors had failed. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Yet, with cleverness in circumventing, they -the Meccan infidels- had recourse to stratagem, but all their cunning they take for a sinister and crooked wisdom comes to Allah's knowledge, notwithstanding that their breastplate of cunning is overreaching that it moves mountains. ### Bijan Moeinian The disbelievers had recourse to the most evil plans; the plans that could have moved the mountains. Oysa onların düzenleri, dağları yerlerinden oynatacak da olsa, Tanrı katında onlara hazırlanmış düzen (kötü bir karşılık) vardır. ### Hasan Basri Çantay — Kur'an-ı Hakim ve Meal-i Kerim Hakıykat, onlar (peygamberlere karşı) bir takım tuzaklar kurmuşlardı. Halbuki onların tuzaklarından dağlar yerinden oynayıb gitmiş olsa bile Allah katında onlara aid (nice nice) cezalar vardır. ### İbni Kesir Gerçekten onlar, düzenlerini kurmuşlardı. Halbuki dağları oynatacak güçte olsa bile, onların bu düzenleri hep Allah'ın elindeydi. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı (Hal böyleyken,) onlar yine de, çürük ve asılsız tasarımlara dayanan oyunlarını oynamaya devam etmekteler; oysa, onların bütün oyunları, bütün düzenleri Allah'ın bilgisi içindedir.
