Surah Ibrahim (Abraham) — سورة ابراهيم - **Verse:** 27 / 52 · **Juz:** 13 · **Mushaf page:** 258 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-ibrahim/verse-27 ## Arabic يُثَبِّتُ اللّٰهُ الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْاٰخِرَةِۚ وَيُضِلُّ اللّٰهُ الظَّالِم۪ينَ وَيَفْعَلُ اللّٰهُ مَا يَشَٓاءُ۟ ## Transcription Yuthabbitu Allahu allatheena amanoobilqawli aththabiti fee alhayatiaddunya wafee al-akhirati wayudilluAllahu aththalimeenawayafAAalu Allahu ma yasha/ ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Allah makes those who have iman firm with the Firm Word in the life of this world and the Next World. But Allah misguides the wrongdoers. Allah does whatever He wills. ### Progressive Muslims God makes firm those who believe with firm sayings in the worldly life, and in the Hereafter. And He misguides the wicked, and God does what He wishes. ### Shabbir Ahmed Allah strengthens those who accept (the good tree of) Divine Ideology in the life of this world and in the Hereafter. Allah's Law sends astray those who displace truth with falsehood. And Allah does everything according to His Laws. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation God strengthens those who heed warning with a firm word in the life of this world and in the Hereafter. And God sends astray the wrongdoers; and God does what He wills. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation Godmakes firm those who believe with firm sayings in the worldly life, and in the Hereafter. They Remove Their Families From God's Protection ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira With immutuble words God makes the faithful dauntless in the life of the world and the life to come, but leads the unjust into error, for God does as He pleases. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) Allah keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter. And Allah sends astray the wrongdoers. And Allah does what He wills. ### Muhammad Asad [Thus, ] God grants firmness unto those who have attained to faith through the word that is unshakably true in the life of this world as well as in the life to come; but the wrongdoers He lets go astray: for God does whatever He wills. ### Marmaduke Pickthall Allah confirmeth those who believe by a firm saying in the life of the world and in the Hereafter, and Allah sendeth wrong-doers astray. And Allah doeth what He will. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Thus, through a firm word,[1] Allah grants firmness to the believers both in this world and in the Hereafter. As for the wrong-doers, Allah lets them go astray.[2] Allah does whatever He wills. _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, the believers remain steadfast during the life of this world because of their stable system of life based on this pure word. For this gives than a straight point of view, a sound system of thought and a comprehensive theory of life, and it serves as a master key to the unraveling of all knots and the solving of all problems. With its help, they acquire that strength of character and that firmness of conduct which keep them steady in the face of every vicissitude of life. This provides them also with such solid principles of life which give them peace of mind and heart, and prevent them from deviation and caprice. Above all, when, after the life of this world, they will enter into the life of the Hereafter, they will remain perfectly calm without any tinge of fear or anxiety, for they will find everything therein to be in accordance with their expectations, as if they were fully acquainted with every aspect of it before they entered into it. For they had been fully informed of, and therefore fully prepared for every stage and phase of this life. That is why they will pass through every stage with perfect calmness and firmness in contrast to the disbelievers who built their worldly lives on an evil word and will, therefore, be taken aback to find everything against their expectations. - [2] That is, Allah lets the transgressors, who discard the pure word and follow an evil word, go astray by creating confusion in their minds and misdirecting their efforts because of this deviation. That is why they cannot find the right way of thought and action and so fail miserably. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Allah confirms those whose hearts have been impressed with the image of religious and spiritual virtues in opinion, action, purpose and in their words of truth expressing their thoughts and corroborating their faith in life here and at judgment Hereafter. Allah misguides the wrongful of actions, and Allah accomplishes what He will. ### Bijan Moeinian God strengthens those who believe with His "Firm word" in this life as well as in the Hereafter. As to the unjust people, God will send them to the darkness (as they have proven that they do not deserve the guidance) and God does whatever He wills. ### Al-Hilali & Khan Allâh will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world (i.e. they will keep on worshipping Allâh Alone and none else), and in the Hereafter.[1] And Allâh will cause to go astray those who are Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers), and Allâh does what He wills.[2] ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali Allah will establish in strength those who believe, with the word that stands firm, in this world and in the Hereafter; but Allah will leave, to stray, those who do wrong: Allah doeth what He willeth. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran Allah makes the believers steadfast with the firm Word ˹of faith˺[1] in this worldly life and the Hereafter. And Allah leaves the wrongdoers to stray. For Allah does what He wills. ### Taqi Usmani Allah keeps the believers firm with the stable word in the worldly life and in the Hereafter; and Allah lets the unjust go astray; and Allah does what He wills. ### Abdul Haleem God will give firmness to those who believe in the firmly rooted word, both in this world and the Hereafter, but the evildoers He leaves to stray: God does whatever He will. ### Arthur John Arberry God confirms those who believe with the firm word, in the present life and in the world to come; and God leads astray the evildoers; and God does what He will. ### E. Henry Palmer God answers those who believe with the sure word in this world's life and in the next; but God leads the wrong-doers astray; for God does what He will. ### Hamid S. Aziz Allah answers (confirms, establishes) those who believe with the firm (sure) word in the life of this world and in the Hereafter; but Allah leads the wrong-doers astray; for Allah does what He will. ### Mahmoud Ghali Allah makes the ones who have believed stand firm with the firm saying in the present life (Literally: the lowly life; i. e., the life of this world) and in the Hereafter; and Allah leads into error the unjust (ones), and Allah performs whatever He decides. ### George Sale God shall confirm them who believe, by the stedfast word of faith, both in this life and in that which is to come: But God shall lead the wicked into error; for God doth that which He pleaseth. ### Syed Vickar Ahamed Allah establishes those who believe with strength with the Word (from Allah) that stands firm, (both) in this world and in the Hereafter, and Allah will let those who do wrong to go astray: And Allah does what He wills. ### Amatul Rahman Omar Allâh strengthens those who have believed with the (true) word firmly established, (both) in the present life and in the Hereafter.
