Surah Hud (Hud) — سورة هود - **Verse:** 6 / 123 · **Juz:** 12 · **Mushaf page:** 221 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-hud/verse-6 ## Arabic وَمَا مِنْ دَٓابَّةٍ فِي الْاَرْضِ اِلَّا عَلَى اللّٰهِ رِزْقُهَا وَيَعْلَمُ مُسْتَقَرَّهَا وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَاۜ كُلٌّ ف۪ي كِتَابٍ مُب۪ينٍ ## Transcription Wama min dabbatin fee al-ardiilla AAala Allahi rizquha wayaAAlamumustaqarraha wamustawdaAAaha kullun fee kitabinmubeen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley There is no creature on the earth which is not dependent upon Allah for its provision. He knows where it lives and where it dies. They are all in a Clear Book. ### Progressive Muslims And there is not a creature on Earth except that its provision is due from God. And He knows where it dwells and where it hides. All is in a clear record. ### Shabbir Ahmed There is not a creature in the earth but its sustenance depends on Allah. He is Aware of its habitation and of the needs of His creation at every stage (6:99). He carries them from one station to another until the final destination. All is in a clear register. ### Muhammad Asad And there is no living creature on earth but depends for its sustenance on God; and He knows its time-limit [on earth] and its resting-place [after death]: all [this] is laid down in [His] clear decree. ### Marmaduke Pickthall And there is not a beast in the earth but the sustenance thereof dependeth on Allah. He knoweth its habitation and its repository. All is in a clear Record. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary There is not a single moving creature on the earth but Allah is responsible for providing its sustenance. He knows where it dwells and where it will permanently rest.[1] All this is recorded in a clear Book. _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, it is foolish on your part to deceive yourselves that you can escape punishment by hiding yourselves from Allah Who has full and perfect knowledge of everything. Who knows the nest where the tiniest sparrow lives and the hole where the smallest insect resides, and provides their sustenance to them wherever they be. Who knows the dwelling place and the final resting place of every creature and gives life and death to them at the appointed time. Do you think that by hiding yourselves from His messenger, you can also hide yourselves from the All-Knowing Sovereign Who has sent him? Do you think that Allah does not see His messenger doing his very best to convey His message to you and you are trying to turn a deaf ear to it? ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab There is not one single creature domiciled on earth but derives its sustenance from Allah Who knows its settled habitation and the duration of its life span. He also knows the site of its future interment and when it shall be reclaimed for Judgement Hereafter. All such events are recorded in a Book manifest of precision ### Bijan Moeinian There is no creature on earth for whom God has not appointed a provision (which he needs to survive. ) God knows where/ how they live and where/ how they hide themselves. Everything is registered in a profound record (the Lord’s computer.) ### Al-Hilali & Khan And no moving (living) creature is there on earth but its provision is due from Allâh. And He knows its dwelling place and its deposit (in the uterus, grave). All is in an Evident Book. ### George Sale There is no creature which creepeth on the earth, but God provideth its food; and He knoweth the place of its retreat, and where it is laid up.
