Surah Hud (Hud) — سورة هود - **Verse:** 49 / 123 · **Juz:** 12 · **Mushaf page:** 226 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-hud/verse-49 ## Arabic تِلْكَ مِنْ اَنْـبَٓاءِ الْغَيْبِ نُوح۪يهَٓا اِلَيْكَۚ مَا كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُهَٓا اَنْتَ وَلَا قَوْمُكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ هٰذَاۜۛ فَاصْبِرْۜۛ اِنَّ الْعَاقِبَةَ لِلْمُتَّق۪ينَ۟ ## Transcription Tilka min anba-i alghaybi nooheehailayka ma kunta taAAlamuha anta wala qawmukamin qabli hatha fasbir inna alAAaqibatalilmuttaqeen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley That is some of the news of the Unseen which We reveal to you. Neither you nor your people knew it before this time. So be steadfast. The best end result is for those who have taqwa. ### Progressive Muslims This is from the news of the unseen that We inspire to you. Neither did you nor your people know this, so be patient. Lo! the sequel is for those who ward off (evil). ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary We reveal to you these accounts of matters that are beyond the reach of human perception. Neither you nor your people knew about them before this. Be, then, patient. Surely, the good end is for the God-fearing.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, you and your companions will come out successful at the end of the conflict just as Prophet Noah (peace be upon him) and his companions did. For this is the divine law that those who exert for the right cause, avoiding erroneous ways for fear of Allah, should come out successful in the end, even though they should meet with failures in the beginning of the conflict at the hands of the enemies of the truth. Therefore you should patiently bear the afflictions which you are suffering and stand steadfast against the obstacles you are encountering in the way, and you should not be in the least disheartened by the painful and superficial successes of your enemies. If you practice fortitude, you will come out successful in the end like Noah and his companions. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab This true historic account which We relate to you O Muhammad is a narrative of facts and events belonging to the unseen and the unknown.
