Surah Hud (Hud) — سورة هود - **Verse:** 48 / 123 · **Juz:** 12 · **Mushaf page:** 226 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-hud/verse-48 ## Arabic ق۪يلَ يَا نُوحُ اهْبِطْ بِسَلَامٍ مِنَّا وَبَرَكَاتٍ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلٰٓى اُمَمٍ مِمَّنْ مَعَكَۜ وَاُمَمٌ سَنُمَتِّعُهُمْ ثُمَّ يَمَسُّهُمْ مِنَّا عَذَابٌ اَل۪يمٌ ## Transcription Qeela ya noohu ihbitbisalamin minna wabarakatin AAalayka waAAalaomamin mimman maAAaka waomamun sanumattiAAuhum thumma yamassuhumminna AAathabun aleem ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley It was said, ‘Nuh, descend with peace from Us and with blessings on you and on the nations which will issue from those who are with you. But there are nations to whom we will give enjoyment and then a painful punishment from Us will afflict them.’ ### Progressive Muslims It was said: "O Noah, descend in peace from Us and blessings upon you and upon nations to come from those with you; and nations whom We will grant pleasure, then a painful retribution will reach them from Us. " ### Shabbir Ahmed He was told, "O Noah! Disembark and descend from the hills in Peace from Us, and there are the blessings of decent sustenance for you and your companions (in spite of the recent flood (11:41)). And other nations, all of them will be awarded according to their deeds. Those who care only for the ornament of this life will be provided for in the world, but eventually suffer from Our Law of Requital." As for some (of them), We shall bestow advantages for a time, then send a grievous punishment on them." ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) It was said, "O Noah, disembark in security from Us and blessings upon you and upon nations [descending] from those with you. But other nations [of them] We will grant enjoyment; then there will touch them from Us a painful punishment." ### Muhammad Asad [Thereupon] the word was spoken: "O Noah! Disembark in peace from Us, and with [Our] blessings upon thee as well as upon the people [who are with thee, and the righteous ones that will spring from thee and] from those who are with thee. But [as for the unrighteous] folk [that will spring from you] - We shall allow them to enjoy life [for a little while], and then there will befall them grievous suffering from Us." ### Marmaduke Pickthall It was said (unto him): O Noah! Go thou down (from the mountain) with peace from Us and blessings upon thee and some nations (that will spring) from those with thee. (There will be other) nations unto whom We shall give enjoyment a long while and then a painful doom from Us will overtake them. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary It was said: 'Noah! Disembark,[1] with Our peace, and with blessings upon you and upon those who are with you. " ### Bijan Moeinian I replied: "Noah, you may leave the Arc now. Peace and My blessings will be with you and your people (and the generations who will follow them.) As for other [disbelieving] nations, I will let them enjoy their appointed lifetime [lifetime in this world] and then subject them to a painful punishment. ### Al-Hilali & Khan It was said: "O Nûh (Noah)! Come down (from the ship) with peace from Us and blessings on you and on the people who are with you (and on some of their off-spring), but (there will be other) people to whom We shall grant their pleasures (for a time), but in the end a painful torment will reach them from Us." ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali The word came: "O Noah! Come down (from the Ark) with peace from Us, and blessing on thee and on some of the peoples (who will spring) from those with thee: but (there will be other) peoples to whom We shall grant their pleasures (for a time), but in the end will a grievous penalty reach them from Us." ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran It was said, "O Noah! Disembark with Our peace and blessings on you and some of the descendants of those with you. As for the others, We will allow them ˹a brief˺ enjoyment, then they will be touched with a painful punishment from Us." ### Taqi Usmani It was said, "O NūH, disembark in peace from Us and with blessings upon you and upon the peoples (springing) from those with you. And there are peoples whom We shall give some enjoyment, then a painful punishment from Us will visit them." ### Abdul Haleem And it was said, ‘Noah, descend in peace from Us, with blessings on you and on some of the communities that will spring from those who are with you. There will be others We will allow to enjoy life for a time, but then a painful punishment from Us will afflict them.’ ### Arthur John Arberry It was said, 'Noah, get thee down in peace from Us, and blessings upon thee and on the nations of those with thee; and nations -- We shall give them enjoyment, then there shall visit them from Us a painful chastisement. ' ### Hamid S. Aziz He said, "My Lord, verily, I seek refuge in Thee (from wrong) lest I ask Thee that whereof I have no knowledge. Unless Thou dost forgive me and have mercy on me, I shall be of those who are lost." ### Mahmoud Ghali It was said, "O Nûh, (Noah) get down in Peace from Us, and blessings upon you and upon nations from (among) the ones with you. And (to other) nations We will soon give enjoyment, thereafter painful torment from Us will touch them." (i.e., befall them) ### George Sale It was said unto him, O Noah, come down from the ark, with peace from us, and blessings upon thee, and upon a part of those who are with thee: But as for a part of them, We will suffer them to enjoy the provision of this world; and afterwards shall a grievous punishment from us be inflicted on them, in the life to come. ### Syed Vickar Ahamed The Word (from Allah) came: "O Nuh (Noah)! "Sana ve seninle birlikte olan ümmetler üzerine bizden selam ve bereketlerle (gemiden) in. [Sizden türeyecek diğer kafir] Ümmetleri de yararlandıracağız, sonra onlara bizden acı bir azab dokunacaktır." ### Hasan Basri Çantay — Kur'an-ı Hakim ve Meal-i Kerim Denildi ki: "Ya Nuh, sana ve (gemide) maiyyetinde bulunanlardan (gelecek mü'min) ümmetlere bizden selam (-ü selamet) ve bereketlerle in (gemiden. Onlardan türeyecek diğer kafir) ümmetler de vardır ki biz onları dahi (dünyada bol rızıklarla) faidelendireceğiz. Sonra ise (ahiretde) onları bizden acıklı bir azab çarpacakdır.. ### İbni Kesir Ey Nuh; bizim katımızdan selametle in. Sana ve seninle beraber olan ümmetlere hayır ve bereketler olsun. Ama öyle ümmetler var ki; onları bir süre geçindireceğiz. Sonra onlara can yakıcı bir azab vereceğiz, denildi. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı Bunun üzerine (Nuh'a) "Ey Nuh!" denildi, "Sana ve seninle beraber (olanlara; senin ve) onlar(ın soyun)dan gelecek olan (iyi) insanlara katımızdan bir barış ve güvenlik, bir bolluk bereket (vaadi) ile gemiden in. Fakat (senin ve onların soyundan gelecek olan zalim ve inkarcı) insanlara gelince, Biz onların (bu dünyada belli bir süre) tutunup geçinmelerine fırsat verecek, sonra da başlarına katımızdan bir azap saracağız." ### Şaban Piriş — Kur'an-ı Kerim Türkçe Anlamı -Ey Nuh, sana ve seninle birlikte olan topluluklara, bizden bir esenlik ve bereketle in.
