Surah Hud (Hud) — سورة هود - **Verse:** 19 / 123 · **Juz:** 12 · **Mushaf page:** 222 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-hud/verse-19 ## Arabic اَلَّذ۪ينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَب۪يلِ اللّٰهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجاًۜ وَهُمْ بِالْاٰخِرَةِ هُمْ كَافِرُونَ ## Transcription Allatheena yasuddoona AAansabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan wahum bil-akhiratihum kafiroon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley those who bar access to the way of Allah desiring to make it crooked and reject the Next Woeld. ### Progressive Muslims Those who block others from the path of God and they seek to twist it; and regarding the Hereafter they are in denial. ### Shabbir Ahmed They are the ones who hinder people from the Path of Allah, and seek to make it crooked. That is, that God’s curse will be proclaimed in the Hereafter against those who are guilty of the crimes mentioned. - [2] Such persons do not like the straight way being expounded to them. They would rather have the straight way rendered crooked by altering it under the influence of lust, prejudice, fancy, and superstition. It is only after the way that was once straight has been rendered crooked that they will be willing to accept it. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab "Who stood in the way to prevent Allah's spirit of truth from guiding people into all truth, making it their aim to pervert the truth and crook the path of righteousness to their own ends, and never did they acknowledge the truth of the Hereafter.
