Surah Ghafir (The Forgiver) — سورة غافر - **Verse:** 6 / 85 · **Juz:** 24 · **Mushaf page:** 466 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-ghafir/verse-6 ## Arabic وَكَذٰلِكَ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ عَلَى الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُٓوا اَنَّهُمْ اَصْحَابُ النَّارِۢ ## Transcription Wakathalika haqqat kalimaturabbika AAala allatheena kafaroo annahum as-habuannar ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley So your Lord’s Words about those who are kafir proved true, that they are indeed the Companions of the Fire. ### Progressive Muslims And as such, the word of your Lord has come to pass upon those who rejected, that they are the dwellers of the Fire. ### Shabbir Ahmed Thus was fulfilled the Word of your Lord concerning the rejecters, and so they are companions of the Fire. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation And thus became binding the word of thy Lord upon those who ignore warning, that they are the companions of the Fire. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation And as such, the word of your Lord has come to pass upon those who rejected, that they are the dwellers of the Fire. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament Thus, the judgment of your Lord is already stamped upon those who disbelieve, that they are the dwellers of Hell. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira In this way the sentence of your Lord against the infidels that they would be the inmates of Hell, was justified. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And thus has the word of your Lord come into effect upon those who disbelieved that they are companions of the Fire. ### Muhammad Asad And thus shall thy Sustainer’s word come true against all who are bent on denying the truth: they shall find themselves in the fire [of hell]. ### Marmaduke Pickthall Thus was the word of thy Lord concerning those who disbelieve fulfilled: That they are owners of the Fire. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary Thus has the decree of your Lord become due against the unbelievers. Another meaning can be: Just as the nations of the past have gone to their doom, so will those people also who are committing disbelief go to Hell, according to the fixed decree of Allah. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Thus was Allah's word proclaimed beforehand against those who denied His Authority, realized in actual experience; that they were born to be the inmates of Hell fire. ### Bijan Moeinian The words of your Lord is nothing but the truth.
