Surah Fussilat (Explained in detail) — سورة فصلت - **Verse:** 39 / 54 · **Juz:** 24 · **Mushaf page:** 480 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-fussilat/verse-39 ## Arabic وَمِنْ اٰيَاتِه۪ٓ اَنَّكَ تَرَى الْاَرْضَ خَاشِعَةً فَاِذَٓا اَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا الْمَٓاءَ اهْتَزَّتْ وَرَبَتْۜ اِنَّ الَّـذ۪ٓي اَحْيَاهَا لَمُحْـيِ الْمَوْتٰىۜ اِنَّهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَد۪يرٌ ## Transcription Wamin ayatihi annaka taraal-arda khashiAAatan fa-itha anzalnaAAalayha almaa ihtazzat warabat inna allatheeahyaha lamuhyee almawta innahuAAala kulli shay-in qadeer ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Among His Signs is that you see the earth laid bare and then when We send down water on it it quivers and swells. He who gives it life is He who gives life to the dead. Certainly He has power over all things. ### Progressive Muslims And from among His signs is that you see the land still, then, as soon as We send down the water upon it, it shakes and grows. Surely, the One who revived it can revive the dead. He is capable of all things. ### Shabbir Ahmed And among His Signs is this: That you see the earth humble (to Command). And behold! When We send down water thereon, it thrills and vibrates with life! Behold, He Who revives it, verily is the Reviver of the dead. For, behold, He has Power over all things. Surely He who gives it life will also give life to the dead. Indeed He has power over everything. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And of His signs is that you see the earth stilled, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and grows. Indeed, He who has given it life is the Giver of Life to the dead. Indeed, He is over all things competent. ### Muhammad Asad For among His signs is this: thou seest the earth lying desolate - and lo! when We send down water upon it, it stirs and swells [with life]! Verily, He who brings it to life can surely give life to the dead [of heart as well]: for, behold, He has the power to will anything. ### Marmaduke Pickthall And of His portents (is this): that thou seest the earth lowly, but when We send down water thereon it thrilleth and groweth. Lo! He Who quickeneth it is verily the Quickener of the Dead. Lo! He is Able to do all things. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary And of His Signs is that you see the earth withered, then We send down water upon it, and lo! it quivers and swells. Indeed He who revived it shall bring the dead back to life. He is indeed Qadiron (Omnipotent.) over all things ### Bijan Moeinian Another sign of [the greatness of] God is the water that He orders to be sent down to give life to a dead land. The same God Who brings the dead land to life can bring the dead person also to life. Indeed God has power over everything. ### Al-Hilali & Khan And among His Signs (in this), that you see the earth barren; but when We send down water (rain) to it, it is stirred to life and growth (of vegetations). Verily, He Who gives it life, surely, is Able to give life to the dead (on the Day of Resurrection). Indeed He is Able to do all things. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali And among His Signs in this: thou seest the earth barren and desolate; but when We send down rain to it, it is stirred to life and yields increase. Truly, He Who gives life to the (dead) earth can surely give life to (men) who are dead. For He has power over all things. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran And among His signs is that you see the earth devoid of life, but as soon as We send down rain upon it, it begins to stir ˹to life˺ and swell. Indeed, the One Who revives it can easily revive the dead. He is certainly Most Capable of everything. ### Taqi Usmani And among His signs is that you see the land inactive; then, once We send down water thereto, it gets excited and swells. Surely, the One who has given life to it is the One who gives life to the dead. No doubt, He is powerful to do everything. ### Abdul Haleem Another of His signs is this: you see the earth lying desolate, but when We send water down on to it, it stirs and grows. He who gives it life will certainly give life to the dead. And he who quickeneth the earth, will surely quicken the dead; for he is almighty. ### Syed Vickar Ahamed And among His Signs is this: You see the earth with nothing growing and wasted, but when We send down rain to it, it is (gently) brought to life and (the plants) regrow. Truly, He Who gives life to it (the earth which is dead) can surely give life to the dead. Indeed, over all things, He is most Powerful (Khadir, Able to do all things). ### Amatul Rahman Omar And it is (one) of His signs that the earth that looks to you desolate stirs up (with life) and swells (producing herbage) when We shower rain water on it. Verily, He (the Almighty Lord) Who gives it life will surely raise the dead to life (as well). Verily, He is the Possessor of power over every desired thing. ### Ali Quli Qarai Among His signs is that you see the earth desolate; but when We send down water upon it, it stirs and swells. Şüphe yok ki, ona o hayatı veren elbette ölüleri dirilticidir. Doğrusu O, herşeye gücü yetendir. ### Gültekin Onan O'nun ayetlerinden biri de senin gerçekten yeryüzünü huşu içinde [solmuş, boynu bükülmüş ve kupkuru] görmendir. Ama biz onun üzerine suyu indirdiğimiz zaman deprenir ve kabarır. Şüphesiz onu dirilten, ölüleri de elbette dirilticidir. Çünkü O, her şeye güç yetirendir. ### Hasan Basri Çantay — Kur'an-ı Hakim ve Meal-i Kerim Senin hakıykaten boynunu bükmüş gördüğün arz da Onun ayetlerindendir. Fakat biz üzerine suyu indirdiğimiz vakit o, harekete gelir, kabarır. Ona muhakkak can veren (Allah) elbet ölüleri de dirilticidir. Çünkü O, her şey'e hakkıyle kaadirdir. ### İbni Kesir O'nun ayetlerinden biri de, kupkuru gördüğün yeryüzünün Biz ona su indirdiğimiz zaman harekete geçip kabarmasıdır. Ona can veren Allah, elbette ölüleri de diriltir. Muhakkak ki O; her şeye kadirdir. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı O'nun işaretlerinden biri de şudur: Sen toprağı çorak görürsün ama üzerine yağmur yağdırdığımızda hemen harekete geçer ve (hayata) uyanıverir! Ona hayat veren, şüphesiz, ölü (kalbe de) hayat verir, çünkü O, her şeye kadirdir. ### Şaban Piriş — Kur'an-ı Kerim Türkçe Anlamı Onun ayetlerinden biri de şudur: -Yeryüzünü kupkuru görürsün, üzerine su indirdiğimiz zaman, harekete geçer ve kabarır. Toprağa böyle hayat veren, ölüleri de diriltecektir. O'nun her şeye gücü yeter. ### Süleyman Ateş — Kur'an-ı Kerim ve Yüce Meali O'nun ayetlerinden biri de (şudur): Sen, toprağı, boynu bükük görürsün.
