And if they be patient, the Fire is a home for them; and if they seek to make amends, they will not be of those who might make amends.
If they are steadfast, the Fire will still be their residence! If they ask for favour, no favour will be given.
If they wait, then the Fire will be their destiny, and if they beg to be excused, they will not be excused.
And even if they bear with patience, the Fire will be their home. And if they ask to be allowed to make amends, their request will not be granted. (16:84).
And if they be patient, the Fire is a home for them; and if they seek to make amends, they will not be of those who might make amends.
If they wait, then the Fire will be their destiny, and if they beg to be excused, they will not be excused.
If they wait, then the fire will be their destiny, and if they beg to be excused, they will not be excused.
If they continue the way they are, Hell will be their destiny, and if they make up excuses, they will not be excused.
Even if they are patient, their abode is Hell; and if they beg for favour, none will favour them.
So if they are patient, the Fire is a residence for them; and if they ask to appease , they will not be of those who are allowed to appease.
And then, if they endure in patience, the fire will still be their abode; and if they pray to be allowed to make amends, they will not be allowed to do so:
And though they are resigned, yet the Fire is still their home; and if they ask for favour, yet they are not of those unto whom favour can be shown.
In this state, whether they bear with patience (or not), Fire alone shall be their abode. And if they seek to make amends, they will not be allowed to do so.*
And now if they prefer O Muhammad to sit like patience on a monument smiling at grief, nonetheless, they are destined to the abode in Hell. If they invoke Allah's forgiveness, never will heaven respond favourably to their invocation.
If the disbelievers insist upon their attitude and way of life, they will end up in Hell no matter what excuse they come up with.
Then, if they bear the torment patiently, then the Fire is the home for them, and if they seek to please Allâh, yet they are not of those who will ever be allowed to please Allâh.
If, then, they have patience, the Fire will be a home for them! and if they beg to be received into favour, into favour will they not (then) be received.
Even if they endure patiently, the Fire will ˹always˺ be their home. And if they ˹beg to˺ appease ˹their Lord˺, they will never be allowed to.
Now, if they endure patiently, even then the Fire is their abode, and if they seek forgiveness, they are not among those (who could be) forgiven.
The Fire will still be their home, even if they resign themselves to patience, and if they pray to be allowed to make amends, they will not be given permission to do so.
Then if they persist, the Fire shall be a lodging for them; and if they ask amends yet no amends shall be made to them.
And if they are patient, still the fire is a resort for them; and if they ask for favour again, they shall not be taken into favour.
Then though they are resigned, still the fire is their abode, and if they ask for favour, yet are they not of those unto whom favour can be shown.
So in case they (endure) patiently, then the Fire will be a lodging for them, and in case they ask amends, yet in no way will they be (allowed) to make amends.
Whether they bear their torment, hell fire shall be their abode; or whether they beg for favour, they shall not obtain favour.
Then, let them have patience, then (later) the Fire will be a Home for them! And if they beg to be received to please (Allah); They will not be among those who will ever please (Him).
Now, if (in this state of theirs) they show patience (even then) the Fire is their resort. And if they ask to be allowed to approach the threshold (of God's Throne) they will not be of those who are allowed to approach the threshold (to seek His forgiveness and mercy).
Should they be patient, the Fire is their abode; and should they seek to propitiate, they will not be redeemed.
