Surah Fatir (The Originator) — سورة فاطر - **Verse:** 9 / 45 · **Juz:** 22 · **Mushaf page:** 434 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-fatir/verse-9 ## Arabic وَاللّٰهُ الَّـذ۪ٓي اَرْسَلَ الرِّيَاحَ فَتُث۪يرُ سَحَاباً فَسُقْنَاهُ اِلٰى بَلَدٍ مَيِّتٍ فَاَحْيَيْنَا بِهِ الْاَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَاۜ كَذٰلِكَ النُّشُورُ ## Transcription Wallahu allathee arsalaarriyaha fatutheeru sahaban fasuqnahuila baladin mayyitin faahyayna bihi al-ardabaAAda mawtiha kathalika annushoor ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley It is Allah who sends the winds which raise the clouds which We then drive to a dead land and by them bring the earth to life after it was dead. That is how the Resurrection will be. ### Progressive Muslims And God is the One who sends the winds so it stirs up a cloud, then We drive it to a town that is dead, and We revive with it the land after it had died. Such is the resurrection. ### Shabbir Ahmed And Allah it is Who sends the winds and they raise a cloud; then We lead it unto a dead land and revive the earth after it had been lifeless. Thus is the resurrection. ### Muhammad Asad AND [remember:] it is God who sends forth the winds, so that they raise a cloud, whereupon We drive it towards dead land and thereby give life to the earth after it had been lifeless: even thus shall resur­rection be! ### Marmaduke Pickthall And Allah it is Who sendeth the winds and they raise a cloud; then We lead it unto a dead land and revive therewith the earth after its death. Such is the Resurrection. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary It is Allah Who sends forth winds which then set the clouds in motion, which We drive to some dead land giving a fresh life to earth after it had become dead. Such will be the resurrection of the dead.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] That is, these ignorant people think that the Hereafter is impossible. That is why they are living under the delusion that they may do whatever they like in the world, the time will never come when they will have to appear before their God and render an account of their deeds. But this is no more than a delusion. On the Day of Resurrection, the dead men of all ages will suddenly rise back to life at one call of Allah just as the dead earth comes back to life at one shower of the rain and the roots, lying dead for ages, become green and start sprouting up from the layers of the earth. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Allah is He Who sends the wind carrying water vapour extracted chiefly from the water mass on the surface of the earth to raise clouds spreading in the floor of the vault of heaven, We drive them to, a dead or droughty land where they pour their rain water with which We revive the land after it had Suffered death; similarly do We effect Resurrection. ### Bijan Moeinian God is the One Who makes the winds to raise the clouds and then send it to the dead land to resurrect it after its death. Similar is the Resurrection. ### Taqi Usmani Allah is the One who sends the winds, then they raise up the clouds, then We drive them to a dead land and revive the land through them after its death. (When the clouds rise) We drive them towards a tract of land which has no sign of life and make thereby the barren land fertile, green and flourishing. That is how the quickening (of the dead shall come to pass). ### Ali Quli Qarai It is Allah who sends the winds and they raise a cloud; then We drive it toward a dead land and with it revive the earth after its death. Derken onu, ölmüş bir beldeye sevkedip onunla yere ölümünden sonra hayat vermekteyiz. İşte öldükten sonra dirilme böyledir. ### Gültekin Onan Tanrı, rüzgarları gönderir, onlar da bulutu kaldırır, böylece biz onu ölü bir beldeye sürükleriz, onunla, yeri ölümünden sonra diriltiriz. İşte (ölümden sonra) dirilip yayılma da böyledir. ### Hasan Basri Çantay — Kur'an-ı Hakim ve Meal-i Kerim Allah rüzgarları salıverib de bulut (ları) harekete getirmekde olandır. Derken biz onu ölü bir toprağa sürüb onunla yeri, ölümünün ardından, canlandırmışadır.
