Surah Fatir (The Originator) — سورة فاطر - **Verse:** 12 / 45 · **Juz:** 22 · **Mushaf page:** 435 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-fatir/verse-12 ## Arabic وَمَا يَسْتَوِي الْبَحْرَانِۗ هٰذَا عَذْبٌ فُرَاتٌ سَٓائِـغٌ شَرَابُهُ وَهٰذَا مِلْحٌ اُجَاجٌۜ وَمِنْ كُلٍّ تَأْكُلُونَ لَحْماً طَرِياًّ وَتَسْتَخْرِجُونَ حِلْيَةً تَلْبَسُونَهَاۚ وَتَرَى الْفُلْكَ ف۪يهِ مَوَاخِرَ لِتَبْتَغُوا مِنْ فَضْلِه۪ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ ## Transcription Wama yastawee albahranihatha AAathbun furatun sa-ighun sharabuhuwahatha milhun ojajun wamin kullinta/kuloona lahman tariyyan watastakhrijoona hilyatantalbasoonaha watara alfulka feehi mawakhiralitabtaghoo min fadlihi walaAAallakum tashkuroon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley The two seas are not the same: the one is sweet, refreshing, delicious to drink, the other salty, bitter to the taste. Yet from both of them you eat fresh flesh and extract ornaments for yourselves to wear; and you see ships on them, cleaving through the waves so that you can seek His bounty and so that hopefully you will be thankful. ### Progressive Muslims Nor are the two seas the same. Şu çok tatlıdır, susuzluğu keser, içimi boğazdan kolay geçer; şu çok tuzludur, acıdır (boğazı yakar kavurur). Bununla beraber siz her birinden tamtaze bir et yersiniz. Giyeceğiniz (takınacağınız) bir zinet çıkarırsınız. (Allahın) fazl (ve kerem) inden (nasıybinizi) aramanız, Ona şükretmeniz için her birinde gemilerin, (suları) yara yara, gitdiklerini görürsün. ### İbni Kesir İki deniz bir olmaz. Şu; çok tatlıdır, susuzluğu keser içilmesi kolaydır. Şu ise tuzludur, acıdır. Her birinden taze et yersiniz ve giyeceğiniz süs eşyası çıkarırsınız. O'nun lutfundan aramanız ve şükretmeniz için gemilerin yara yara gittiklerini görürsünüz. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı (O'nun için benzerlik ve farklılık yaratmak da kolaydır.) O halde, (yeryüzündeki) iki büyük su kütlesi aynı olamaz; birisi tatlı, susuzluğu giderici, içimi güzel iken ötekisi tuzlu ve acıdır.
