Whoso desires power and glory: power and glory belong to God altogether. To Him the good word ascends, and the righteous deed raises it; but those who plot evil deeds: they have a severe punishment; and the scheme of those, it will perish.

If anyone wants power, all power belongs to Allah. All good words rise to Him and virtuous deeds elevate them. But people who plot evil deeds will suffer a harsh punishment. The plotting of such people is profitless.
Whosoever is seeking pride, then know that to God belongs all Pride. To Him ascend the good words, and they are exalted by the good deeds. And as for those who scheme evil, they will have a painful retribution, and their scheming will fail.

And those who take their cunning for a sinister and crooked wisdom fraught with evil shall suffer the torment laid upon the damned; their cunning bordering upon knavery is rendered vain.
The one who is looking for dignity, will find it in God. The good words and praises reach the Lord through the good deeds. As to those who are always engaged in evil plots, their plots will fail and a sever punishment is awaiting them.
Whosoever desires honour, (power and glory), then to Allâh belong all honour, power and glory . To Him ascend (all) the goodly words, and the righteous deeds exalt it (i.e. the goodly words are not accepted by Allâh unless and until they are followed by good deeds), but those who plot evils, theirs will be severe torment. Whoever seeks honour honour entirely belongs to Allah. To Him ascends the good word, and He elevates righteous conduct; as for those who devise evil schemes, there is a severe punishment for them, and their plotting shall come to naught.
