Surah Az-Zumar (The Groups) — سورة الزمر - **Verse:** 47 / 75 · **Juz:** 24 · **Mushaf page:** 462 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-az-zumar/verse-47 ## Arabic وَلَوْ اَنَّ لِلَّذ۪ينَ ظَلَمُوا مَا فِي الْاَرْضِ جَم۪يعاً وَمِثْلَهُ مَعَهُ لَافْتَدَوْا بِه۪ مِنْ سُٓوءِ الْعَذَابِ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِۜ وَبَدَا لَهُمْ مِنَ اللّٰهِ مَا لَمْ يَكُونُوا يَحْتَسِبُونَ ## Transcription Walaw anna lillatheena thalamooma fee al-ardi jameeAAan wamithlahu maAAahu laftadawbihi min soo-i alAAathabi yawma alqiyamati wabadalahum mina Allahi ma lam yakoonoo yahtasiboon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley If those who did wrong owned everything on earth, and the same again with it, they would offer it as a ransom to save themselves from the evil of the punishment on the Day of Rising. What confronts them from Allah will be something they did not reckon with. ### Progressive Muslims And if those who transgressed owned everything on Earth, and its equivalent again with it, they would ransom it to avoid the terrible retribution on the Day of Resurrection. They will be shown by God what they did not expect. ### Shabbir Ahmed If the violators of human rights owned everything on the earth, and twice as much, they would readily offer it as ransom from the awful retribution of the Resurrection Day. And there will appear unto them, from Allah' Law of Requital what they had never imagined. They will be shown by GOD what they never expected. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira Even if the sinners possessed whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and as much more, they would offer it to ransom themselves from the torment of the Day of Resurrection; yet what they did not even imagine would appear to them from God; ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And if those who did wrong had all that is in the earth entirely and the like of it with it, they would [attempt to] ransom themselves thereby from the worst of the punishment on the Day of Resurrection. And there will appear to them from Allah that which they had not taken into account. ### Muhammad Asad But if those who are bent on evildoing posses­sed all that is on earth, and twice as much, they would surely offer it as ransom from the awful suffering [that will befall them] on the Day of Resur­rection: for, something with which they had not reckoned before will [by then] have been made obvious to them by God; ### Marmaduke Pickthall And though those who do wrong possess all that is in the earth, and therewith as much again, they verily will seek to ransom themselves therewith on the Day of Resurrection from the awful doom; and there will appear unto them, from their Lord, that wherewith they never reckoned. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary If the wrong-doers possessed the treasures of the earth in their entirety and as much besides, they would gladly offer it on the Day of Resurrection to redeem themselves from the harrowing chastisement. This because there will appear to them from Allah something (exceedingly dismal which) they had never even imagined. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab And if it so happens that the wrongful of actions were to own the worldly riches and the affluence treasured on earth and as much of the same, they shall be glad to offer it in Day of Judgement in expiation of their guilt and of the inseparable torment laid upon the damned. They shall be faced with what they never expected would happen but Allah has brought it all to light and they now realized that their hopes have been doomed to disappointment. ### Bijan Moeinian If the wrongdoers owned every valuable thing on earth (or even twice as much), on the Day of Judgment they would have willingly offered it to escape their punishment when they will be shown by God what they would have never imagined to happen to them. ### Al-Hilali & Khan And those who did wrong (the polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh), if they had all that is in earth and therewith as much again, they verily, would offer it to ransom themselves therewith on the Day of Resurrection from the evil torment; and there will become apparent to them from Allâh what they had not been reckoning.[1] ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali Even if the wrong-doers had all that there is on earth, and as much more, (in vain) would they offer it for ransom from the pain of the Penalty on the Day of Judgment: but something will confront them from Allah, which they could never have counted upon! ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran Even if the wrongdoers were to possess everything in the world twice over, they would certainly offer it to ransom themselves from the horrible punishment on Judgment Day, for they will see from Allah what they had never expected. ### Taqi Usmani Were the wrongdoers to own all that is on earth, and even twice as much, they would surely seek to ransom themselves with it against the evil punishment on the Day of Judgment. There will appear to them from Allah what they have never imagined. ### Abdul Haleem If the evildoers possessed the earth’s assets twice over they would offer them to ransom themselves from the terrible suffering on the Day of Resurrection: God will show them something they had not reckoned with, ### Arthur John Arberry If the evildoers possessed all that is in the earth, and the like of it with it, they would offer it to ransom themselves from the evil of the chastisement on the Day of Resurrection; yet there would appear to them from God that they never reckoned with, ### E. Henry Palmer And had those who do wrong all that is in the earth, and the like thereof with it, they would ransom themselves therewith from the evil of the torment on the resurrection day! but there shall appear to them from God that which they had not reckoned on; ### Hamid S. Aziz And had those who are unjust all that is in the earth and the like of it with it, they would certainly offer it as ransom (to be saved) from the pain of the punishment on the Day of Resurrection; and what they never thought of shall become plain to them from Allah. ### Mahmoud Ghali And if the ones who do injustice had (control) of whatever is in the earth all together and the like of it with it, indeed they would ransom themselves with it from the odious torment on the Day of the Resurrection, and (there) would appear to them from Allah what they did not (expectedly) reckon with. ### George Sale If those who act unjustly were masters of whatever is in the earth, and as much more therewith, verily they would give it to ransom themselves from the evil of the punishment, on the day of resurrection: And there shall appear unto them, from God, terrors which they never imagined; ### Syed Vickar Ahamed And those who did wrong had all that there is on earth, and as much more, (for no use) they would offer it to save (themselves) from the pain of the penalty on the Day of Judgment: But something will confront them from Allah, over which they could never have counted upon! ### Amatul Rahman Omar And had the wrongdoers owned all that the earth contains and as much in addition to it, they would certainly offer it on the Day of Resurrection to redeem themselves from the woeful punishment; yet there would appear to them from Allâh that which they had never even thought of. ### Ali Quli Qarai Even if the wrongdoers possessed all that is on the earth, and as much of it besides, they would surely offer it to redeem themselves with it from a terrible punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and there will appear to them from Allah what they had never reckoned. ### Ahmed Hulusi — Türkçe Kur'an Çözümü Eğer ki yeryüzündekilerin tümü ve onunla beraber onun misli daha, o zulmedenlerin olsa, elbette onu, kıyamet sürecindeki azabın kötüsünden (kurtulmak için) fidye verirlerdi! Oysa, onların hiç hesaba katmadıkları şeyler, Allah'tan kendileri için açığa çıkmıştır. ### Bayraktar Bayraklı — Yeni Bir Anlayışın Işığında Kur'an Meali Şayet yeryüzünde bulunan her şey ve bununla birlikte bir o kadarı daha zalimlerin olsaydı, kıyamet gününde o azabın kötülüğünden kurtulmak için kesinlikle onu fidye olarak verirlerdi. Onlara Allah tarafından, hiç hesaba katmadıkları şeyler gösterilecektir. ### Diyanet İşleri — Kur'an-ı Kerim Türkçe Meali Eğer yeryüzünde bulunan her şey tümüyle ve onlarla beraber bir o kadarı da zulmedenlerin olsa, kıyamet günü kötü azaptan kurtulmak için elbette onları verirlerdi. Artık, hiç hesap etmedikleri şeyler Allah tarafından karşılarına çıkmıştır. ### Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır — Kur'an-ı Kerim ve Yüce Meali Ve eğer bütün Arzdakiler, bir misli de beraber o zulmedenlerin olsa Kıyamet günü azabın fenalığından kurtulmak için onu mutlak feda ederlerdi zuhur edib de kendilerine Allahdan hiç hisab etmedikleri, nesneler ### Elmalılı (sadeleştirilmiş) Ve eğer bütün yeryüzünde olanlar ve onlarla birlikte bir o kadar daha o zulmedenlerin olsa, kıyamet günü azabın fenalığından kurtulmak için onu mutlaka feda ederlerdi. Ama karşılarına Allah tarafından hiç hesap etmedikleri şeyler çıkarılacaktır. ### Gültekin Onan Eğer yeryüzünde olanların tümü ve bununla birlikte bir katı daha zalimlerin olmuş olsaydı, kıyamet günü o kötü azabtan (kurtulmak amacıyla) gerçekten bunları fidye olarak verirlerdi. Oysa, onların hiç hesaba katmadıkları şeyler, Tanrı'dan kendileri için açığa çıkmıştır. ### Hasan Basri Çantay — Kur'an-ı Hakim ve Meal-i Kerim Eğer yerde ne varsa hepsi ve onunla birlikde bir misli daha o zulmedenlerin (elinde) olsaydı kıyamet gününde (uğrayacakları) azabin kötülüğünden (kurtulmak için) elbette bunları feda ederlerdi. Halbuki (o gün) onlar için Allahdan hiç de zannetmeyecekleri (nice) şeyler zühura gelmişdir (gelecekdir). ### İbni Kesir Yeryüzünde olanların hepsi ve bir misli daha zalimlerin olsaydı; kıyamet günündeki kötü azab için elbette bunları fidye verirlerdi. Halbuki Allah katından onlara hiç hesablamadıkları şeyler belirmiştir. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı Fakat eğer o zalimler yeryüzündeki her şeye ve (hatta) iki misli fazlasına sahip olsalardı, onu Kıyamet Günü (başlarına gelecek) korkunç bela için fidye olarak teklif ederlerdi; çünkü daha önce hiç hesaba almadıkları şey (o zaman) Allah tarafından karşılarına çıkarılacak: ### Şaban Piriş — Kur'an-ı Kerim Türkçe Anlamı Yeryüzünde bulunan şeylerin hepsi ve bir katı daha o zalimlerin olsaydı, kıyamet günü, azabın en kötüsünden kurtulmak için onu fidye olarak verirlerdi. Zira onlar için Allah'tan hiç hesap etmedikleri bir azap ortaya çıkmıştır. ### Süleyman Ateş — Kur'an-ı Kerim ve Yüce Meali Eğer yeryüzünde bulunanların tümü ve onun bir misli daha zulmedenlerin olsaydı, kıyamet günü o kötü azabdan (kurtulmak için) onu mutlaka fidye verirlerdi. (Çünkü) hiç hesab etmedikleri şeyler, Allah'tan karşılarına çıkmıştır. ### Yaşar Nuri Öztürk — Kur'an-ı Kerim Meali Eğer yerdekilerin tamamı ve beraberinde bir o kadarı, zulmedenlerin olsa, kıyamet günü azabın kötülüğünden kurtulmak için tümünü mutlaka fidye verirlerdi. Çünkü hiç hesaba katmadıkları şeyler, Allah tarafından karşılarına çıkarılmıştır. ### Mustafa İslamoğlu — Hayat Kitabı Kur’an Ve eğer yeryüzünün tüm serveti, hatta onun bir kat fazlası zulümde ısrar edenlerin olsaydı, Kıyamet Günü çarptırılacakları cezadan kurtulmak için onu fidye olarak verirlerdi; zira (o gün) daha önceden hiç hesaba katmadıkları şeyler, Allah tarafından ortaya çıkarılacak. ### Erhan Aktaş (Eski Baskı) — Kerim Kur'an Eğer yeryüzünde olanların tamamı ve bir o kadarı daha, o zulmedenlerin olsaydı, Kıyamet Günü azabın kötülüğünden kurtulmak için kesinlikle onu fidye olarak verirlerdi. Çünkü Allah, hesaba katmadıkları şeyleri karşılarına çıkaracaktır. ### Süleymaniye Vakfı (Eski Baskı) — Süleymaniye Vakfı Meali (Mezardan) kalkış günü, yeryüzündeki her şey ve bir o kadarı daha yanlışlar içindeki o kimselerin elinde olsa, o azabın sıkıntısından kurtulmak için hepsini verirlerdi. Allah, hiç hesap etmedikleri şeyleri karşılarına çıkaracaktır. ### Mehmet Okuyan — Kur’an Meal-Tefsir Yeryüzünde ne varsa hepsi ve onunla birlikte bir benzeri daha o zalimlerin olsaydı, kıyamet gününde azabın kötülüğünden (kurtulmak için) elbette onu fidye verirlerdi (feda ederlerdi).
