(What counts is how people journey through life). ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation Thou wilt die, and they will die, ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation You will die, and they will die. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament You (Muhammad) will surely die, just like they will die. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira Verily you will die, and so will they. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) Indeed, you are to die, and indeed, they are to die. ### Muhammad Asad Yet, verily, thou art bound to die, [O Muhammad,] and, verily, they, too, are bound to die: ### Marmaduke Pickthall Lo! thou wilt die, and lo! they will die; ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary (O Prophet), you are destined to die and they too are destined to die.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] There is a subtle gap between the preceding sentence and this, which can be filled by every intelligent person himself by a little consideration of the context. It contains this theme: You are making every effort to make the people understand a simple thing in a simple way, but they are not only showing stubbornness with regard to what you say and rejecting it but are also bent upon harming you in order to suppress the manifest truth. Well, neither you are immortal nor they.
