Surah Az-Zukhruf (Ornaments of gold) — سورة الزخرف - **Verse:** 48 / 89 · **Juz:** 25 · **Mushaf page:** 492 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-az-zukhruf/verse-48 ## Arabic وَمَا نُر۪يهِمْ مِنْ اٰيَةٍ اِلَّا هِيَ اَكْبَرُ مِنْ اُخْتِهَاۘ وَاَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِالْعَذَابِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ ## Transcription Wama nureehim min ayatin illahiya akbaru min okhtiha waakhathnahum bilAAathabilaAAallahum yarjiAAoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley We showed them no Sign which was not greater than the one before it. We seized them with punishment so that hopefully they would turn back. ### Progressive Muslims And every sign We showed them was greater than the one before it, and We seized them with the torment, perhaps they would revert. ### Shabbir Ahmed We showed them Sign after Sign each greater than the previous like of it, and We took them to task with suffering so that they might turn (to make amends (7:133). ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation And We showed them no proof save it was greater than its sister; and We seized them with the punishment, that they might return. ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation And every sign We showed them was greater than the one before it, and We seized them with the torment, perhaps they would return. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament Every sign we showed them was bigger than the one before it.
