Surah At-Tur (The Mount) — سورة الطور - **Verse:** 18 / 49 · **Juz:** 27 · **Mushaf page:** 523 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-at-tur/verse-18 ## Arabic فَاكِه۪ينَ بِمَٓا اٰتٰيهُمْ رَبُّهُمْۚ وَوَقٰيهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَح۪يمِ ## Transcription Fakiheena bima atahumrabbuhum wawaqahum rabbuhum AAathaba aljaheem ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley savouring what their Lord has given them. Their Lord will safeguard them from the punishment of the Blazing Fire: ### Progressive Muslims Delighted by what their Lord has granted them; and their Lord has spared them the retribution of Hell. ### Shabbir Ahmed Delighted in what their Lord has bestowed upon them. And their Lord has guarded them against the torment of the blazing Fire. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation Glad at what their Lord has given them: — and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hell — ### The Monotheist Group — The Quran: A Monotheist Translation Delighted by what their Lord has granted them; and their Lord has spared them the retribution of Hell. ### Rashad Khalifa — The Final Testament They enjoy what their Lord has reserved for them; their Lord has spared them the retribution of Hell. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. ### Muhammad Asad rejoicing in all that their Sustainer will have granted them: for their Sustainer will have warded off from them all suffering through the blazing fire. ### Marmaduke Pickthall Happy because of what their Lord hath given them, and (because) their Lord hath warded off from them the torment of hell-fire. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary enjoying what Allah will have endowed them with; and their Lord will have saved them from the torment of the Blazing Fire.[1] _Footnotes_ - [1] There seems to be no need to mention a person’s being saved from Hell after it has been said that he will be admitted to Heaven, but at several places in the Quran these two things have been mentioned separately because a person’s being saved from Hell is by itself a great blessing. And the words, "and their Lord saved them from the punishment of Hell", is an allusion to the truth that man’s being saved from Hell is possible only through Allah’s grace and bounty; otherwise human weaknesses cause such flaws to occur in everyone’s work that if Allah does not overlook them by His grace and instead decides to subject him to accountability, none can save himself from His punishment. That is why although entry into Paradise is a great bounty from Allah, his being saved from Hell is no less a mercy. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Rejoicing beyond a common joy at the answer to their prayer, exhilarating with what Allah has conferred on them, and jubilant that He has saved them from torture in the pit of Hell; ### Bijan Moeinian Their Lord will save them from the punishment of Hell and let them rejoice in Heaven. ### Al-Hilali & Khan Enjoying in that which their Lord has bestowed on them, and (the fact that) their Lord saved them from the torment of the blazing Fire. ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran enjoying whatever their Lord will have granted them.
