Surah At-Tawbah (The Repentance) — سورة التوبة - **Verse:** 66 / 129 · **Juz:** 10 · **Mushaf page:** 196 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-at-tawbah/verse-66 ## Arabic لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا قَدْ كَفَرْتُمْ بَعْدَ ا۪يمَانِكُمْۜ اِنْ نَعْفُ عَنْ طَٓائِفَةٍ مِنْكُمْ نُعَذِّبْ طَٓائِفَةً بِاَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا مُجْرِم۪ينَ۟ ## Transcription La taAAtathiroo qad kafartumbaAAda eemanikum in naAAfu AAan ta-ifatin minkumnuAAaththib ta-ifatan bi-annahum kanoomujrimeen ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Do not try to excuse yourselves. You have become kafir after having iman. If one group of you is pardoned, another group will be punished for being evildoers.’ ### Progressive Muslims Do not apologize, for you have rejected after your belief. If We pardon one group from you, We will punish another group. That is because they were criminals. ### Shabbir Ahmed "Make no excuse. You have disbelieved after your confession of belief." If We forgive a group of you, there is another group whom We shall punish since they have violated human rights by stealing the fruit of others' labor."
