Surah At-Tawbah (The Repentance) — سورة التوبة - **Verse:** 39 / 129 · **Juz:** 10 · **Mushaf page:** 192 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-at-tawbah/verse-39 ## Arabic اِلَّا تَنْفِرُوا يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَاباً اَل۪يماً وَيَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْماً غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّوهُ شَيْـٔاًۜ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَد۪يرٌ ## Transcription Illa tanfiroo yuAAaththibkumAAathaban aleeman wayastabdil qawman ghayrakum walatadurroohu shay-an wallahu AAalakulli shay-in qadeer ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley If you do not go out to fight, He will punish you with a painful punishment and substitute another people in your place. You will not harm Him in any way. Allah has power over all things. ### Progressive Muslims If you do not march forth, then He will punish you with a painful retribution, and He will replace you with another people, and you do not bother Him in the least. God is capable of all things. ### Shabbir Ahmed If you did not go forth in Allah's Cause, His Law will afflict you with a painful doom. He will replace you with another nation. You cannot harm Him in the least. All things transpire according to the Laws appointed by Allah.
