Surah At-Tawbah (The Repentance) — سورة التوبة - **Verse:** 127 / 129 · **Juz:** 11 · **Mushaf page:** 206 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-at-tawbah/verse-127 ## Arabic وَاِذَا مَٓا اُنْزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ نَظَرَ بَعْضُهُمْ اِلٰى بَعْضٍۜ هَلْ يَرٰيكُمْ مِنْ اَحَدٍ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفُواۜ صَرَفَ اللّٰهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ بِاَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ ## Transcription Wa-itha ma onzilat sooratunnathara baAAduhum ila baAAdinhal yarakum min ahadin thumma insarafoo sarafaAllahu quloobahum bi-annahum qawmun la yafqahoon ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley Each time a sura is sent down, they look at one another, implying, ‘Can anyone see you?’ Then they turn away. Allah has turned their hearts away because they are people who do not understand. ### Progressive Muslims And when a chapter is revealed, they look at one another: "Does anyone see you", then they turn away. God turns away their hearts, for they are a people who do not comprehend. ### Shabbir Ahmed When a Surah is revealed, the hypocrites look at each other mockingly as if saying, "Does anyone see you? Then they slip away. Allah has turned away their hearts for they are a people who are bereft of understanding. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab And when a Surah is sent down, they look at one another and express their thoughts in words, thus: "Does anyone see you", they ask, and they take their leave. Gerçekten onlar, kavramayan (la yefkahun) bir topluluk olmaları dolayısıyla, Tanrı onların kalplerini çevirmiştir. ### Hasan Basri Çantay — Kur'an-ı Hakim ve Meal-i Kerim (Aleyhlerinde) bir sure indirilince birbirine bakarlar da "Sizi bir kimse görmüyor mu?" (diye de endişe ederler) ve sonra (rüsvay olmakdan korkarak sıvışıb) giderler. Allah onların gönüllerini ters çevirmiş.
