Surah Ash-Shuraa (Consultation) — سورة الشورى - **Verse:** 22 / 53 · **Juz:** 25 · **Mushaf page:** 484 - **Source:** https://quran.so/surah-ash-shuraa/verse-22 ## Arabic تَرَى الظَّالِم۪ينَ مُشْفِق۪ينَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا وَهُوَ وَاقِـعٌ بِهِمْۜ وَالَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ ف۪ي رَوْضَاتِ الْجَنَّاتِۚ لَهُمْ مَا يَشَٓاؤُ۫نَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْۜ ذٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَضْلُ الْكَب۪يرُ ## Transcription Tara aththalimeenamushfiqeena mimma kasaboo wahuwa waqiAAun bihim wallatheenaamanoo waAAamiloo assalihati fee rawdatialjannati lahum ma yashaoona AAinda rabbihimthalika huwa alfadlu alkabeer ## Translations ### Aisha Bewley You will see the wrongdoers afraid of what they have earned, when it is about to land right on top of them, whereas those who have iman and do right actions will be in the lush Meadows of the Gardens. They will have whatever they wish for with their Lord. That is the great favour. ### Progressive Muslims You see the transgressors worried because of what they had done; and it will come back at them. As for those who believed and do good works, they will be in the paradises of bliss. They will have what they wish from their Lord. This is the great blessing. ### Shabbir Ahmed You will see the transgressors worrying about what they had been doing, and their earning is bound to fall back upon them. And those who accept the Message and enhance the society will be in flowery rows of the Gardens. For them is whatever they desire from their Lord. This, this indeed is the Great Bounty. ### Sam Gerrans — The Qur'an: A Complete Revelation Thou wilt see the wrongdoers fearful of what they have earned; and it will befall them. And those who heed warning and do righteous deeds will be in the lush meadows of the Gardens; they will have what they wish with their Lord. As for those who believed and led a righteous life, they will be in the gardens of Paradise. They will receive whatever they wish from their Lord. This is the great blessing. ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira You will see the evil-doers full of fear of what they deserve, yet it will come to pass. But those who believe and do the right will be in gardens of Paradise. They will receive what they wish from their Lord; and this will be the greatest favour. ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) You will see the wrongdoers fearful of what they have earned, and it will [certainly] befall them. And those who have believed and done righteous deeds will be in lush regions of the gardens [in Paradise] having whatever they will in the presence of their Lord. That is what is the great bounty. ### Muhammad Asad [In that life to come, ] thou wilt see the evil­doers full of fear at [the thought of] what they have earned: for [now] it is bound to fall back upon them. And in the flowering meadows of the gardens [of paradise thou wilt see] those who have attained to faith and done righteous deeds: all that they might desire shall they have with their Sustainer: [and] this, this is the great bounty – ### Marmaduke Pickthall Thou seest the wrong-doers fearful of that which they have earned, and it will surely befall them, while those who believe and do good works (will be) in flowering meadows of the Gardens, having what they wish from their Lord. This is the great preferment. ### Abul A'la Maududi — Tafhim commentary You will see the wrongdoers fearful of the consequence of their deeds which will certainly overtake them. But those who have faith and do good deeds will be in the meadows of the Gardens, wherein they shall have whatever they desire from their Lord; that is the great Bounty. ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab There and then shall you see the wrongful of actions alarmed at their sinful iniquities in life being exacted with the sudden fear and the apprehension of danger which has beset them on all sides; whereas those who had believed with hearts impressed with the image of religious and spiritual virtues and with deeds of wisdom and piety, rejoicing beyond a common joy in the beatitude of heaven's realm where they shall find any object of desire or anything of any kind that their emotions are directed to its attainment be in readiness to come to them at will. This is indeed the great bounty and munificence of Providence. ### Bijan Moeinian You will witness a Day when these wicked people will fearfully analyze their deeds and will certainly pay for it. As for those who believed and did good deeds, they will end up in the Gardens of Paradise. they will receive from their Lord whatever they desire. This is the greatest achievement. ### Al-Hilali & Khan You will see (on the Day of Resurrection), the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers) fearful of that which they have earned, and it (Allâh’s Torment) will surely befall them. But those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds (will be) in the flowering meadows of the Gardens (Paradise). They shall have whatsoever they desire with their Lord. That is the supreme Grace, (Paradise). ### Abdullah Yusuf Ali Thou wilt see the Wrong-doers in fear on account of what they have earned, and (the burden of) that must (necessarily) fall on them. But those who believe and work righteous deeds will be in the luxuriant meads of the Gardens: they shall have, before their Lord, all that they wish for. That will indeed be the magnificent Bounty (of Allah). ### Mustafa Khattab — The Clear Quran You will see the wrongdoers fearful ˹of the punishment˺ for what they committed but it will be inevitable for them, whereas those who believe and do good will be in the lush Gardens of Paradise. They will have whatever they desire from their Lord. That is ˹truly˺ the greatest bounty. ### Taqi Usmani You will see the wrongdoers fearful of what they earned, and it is sure to befall them. As for those who believed and did righteous deeds, they will be in meadows of the Gardens. For them there is, with their Lord, whatever they wish. That is the great bounty. ### Abdul Haleem you will see them fearful because of what they have done: punishment is bound to fall on them- but those who believe and do good deeds will be in the flowering meadows of the Gardens. They will have whatever they wish from their Lord: this is the great bounty; ### Arthur John Arberry Thou seest the evildoers going in fear of that they have earned, that is about to fall on them; but those who believe and do righteous deeds are in Meadows of the Gardens; whatsoever they will they shall have with their Lord; that is the great bounty. ### E. Henry Palmer Thou shalt see the unjust shrink with terror from what they have gained as it falls upon them; and those who believe and do right, in meads of Paradise, they shall have what they please with their Lord;- that is great grace! ### Hamid S. Aziz you see the wrong-doers fearful on account of what they have earned, and it must necessarily befall them; and those who believe and do good shall be in the luxurious meadows of the Gardens; they shall have what they please with their Lord: that is the great Grace (Bounty). ### Mahmoud Ghali You see the unjust feeling timorous about what they have earned, and it is befalling them. And the ones who have believed and done deeds of righteousness are in the Meadows of the Gardens; whatever they decide on they will have in the Providence of their Lord. It is that which is the great Grace. ### George Sale On that day thou shalt see the unjust in great terror, because of their demerits; and the penalty thereof shall fall upon them: But they who believe and do good works, shall dwell in the delightful meadows of paradise; they shall obtain whatever they shalt desire, with their Lord. This is the greatest acquisition. ### Syed Vickar Ahamed You will see the wrongdoers in fear because of what they have earned, and of whatever (penalty) that must fall on them. But those who believe and work righteous deeds (will be) in the luxurious shadows in the Gardens. They shall have, before their Lord, all that they wished for. That will truly be the greatest reward (from Allah). ### Amatul Rahman Omar (On the Day of Judgment) you shall see these wrongdoers full of dread and awe on account of the evil deeds they have committed. Yet this (punishment as a consequence to their evil deeds) is sure to befall them. But those who believe and (accordingly) do deeds of righteousness will be in (flowering and delightful) meadows of the Gardens. There is (present) with their Lord whatever they desire. That indeed is the bounteous favour (of Allâh). ### Ali Quli Qarai You will see the wrongdoers apprehensive because of what they have earned, while it is about to befall them; but those who have faith and do righteous deeds will be in the gardens of paradise: they will have whatever they wish near their Lord. That is the greatest grace. ### Ahmed Hulusi — Türkçe Kur'an Çözümü Onların başına geldiğinde, (yaptıklarının sonucunda) kazandıklarından ötürü zalimleri korku ile titreyenler olarak görürsün! İman edip imanın gereğini uygulayanlar ise cennetlerin en güzel yerlerindedirler. . . Onlar için Rablerinin indinde diledikleri her şey vardır. . . İşte bu! Rablerinin yanında onlar için her istedikleri vardır, işte bu büyük lütuf. ### Gültekin Onan (O gün) Zalimleri kazandıkları dolayısıyla korkuyla titrerlerken görürsün; o (yaptıkları) da üstlerine çöküvermiştir. İnanıp salih amellerde bulunanlar ise cennet bahçelerindedirler. Rableri katında her diledikleri onlarındır. İşte büyük fazl budur. ### Hasan Basri Çantay — Kur'an-ı Hakim ve Meal-i Kerim Sen o zaalimlerin (dünyada) işleyib kazandıkları (kötülükler) yüzünden (kıyamet gününde nasıl) korkulara duçar olacaklarını — ki bu (kötülüklerin cezası o gün mutlakaa) onların başına gelecekdir — göreceksin. İman edib de iyi iyi amel (ve hareket) lerde bulunanlar ise cennetlerin (haas) bağçelerindedir. Rableri huzurunda ne dilerlerse (hepsi) onlarındır. İşte bu, büyük fazl (-u kerem) in ta kendisidir. ### İbni Kesir Göreceksin ki; zalimler yaptıkları şeyler başlarına gelirken korkudan titrerler. İman edip salih amel işleyenler ise cennet bahçelerindedirler. Rabblarının katında onlara diledikleri vardır. İşte bu; büyük lutfun kendisidir. ### Muhammed Esed — Kur'an Mesajı Zalimlerin (öteki dünyada) kazandıkları şey(i düşünmek)ten korktuklarını göreceksin. Zaten korktukları başlarına mutlaka gelecektir. İmana erip doğru ve yararlı işler yapanları ise (cennetin) çiçek dolu bahçelerinde (bulacaksın).
